13th_Star Posted February 10, 2007 Share Posted February 10, 2007 so yeah i got bored and decided to make some forum software, the layout has been done really quick so its not gonna look that good lol. some pages are not up yet but the main forum parts are , posting topics/polls and replying. redbullmarky Posted February 10, 2007 Share Posted February 10, 2007 -as an unregistered user, clicking 'add vote' sends me off to an "Incorrect Page". -maybe also it'd be better to not even allow user to type in message unless they're logged in - divert them to a 'you need to be logged in' page BEFORE they are presented with the post form. some would get a bit miffed if they spend ages crafting a post only to realise they forgot to log in. - the pagination on your 'Poll' thread (page with the list of topics) doesnt work. clicking 1 says the topic doesnt exist. clicking 2 gives me "Incorrect Page" otherwise, things look promising Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
13th_Star Posted February 10, 2007 Author Share Posted February 10, 2007 ah yes I just noticed the thing with the pagins and I'm gonna get it sorted. also I have not got around to blocking viewers from writting in messages yet, But it sure is on my list. oh and atm I'm currently working on the profile pages, gonna try keep them neet and easy to use. they should be on some time soon, unless I fall asleep the best thing about this topic I can come read it and it reminds me what I need to do lol. obsidian Posted February 28, 2007 Share Posted February 28, 2007 Be careful relying solely on cookies to display screen information. While I was not able to gain control of the site, I was able to appear as though I were logged in as "13th_Star" or any other username I wish, for that matter. Modifying a local cookie is an easy adjustment, and when it gives me additional info on the page, it can get dangerous. Looks like you've done pretty well so far with security, though.
