steviewdr
While we're on the Font topic: Having a 'nice' font is critical to setting the scene and theme of a website. Where is the best place to get an overview of the top 50 fonts? I.E. nice different fonts, apart from the system defaults. Cheers, -steve Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/43109-looking-for-font/#findComment-209573 Share on other sites
redbullmarky
i generally get additional fonts from here: http://www.dafont.com/ as for getting a rundown of the nicest/top 50, i think it's a personal taste and very dependent on how it's used - so everyone's top 50 will be vastly different. personally I like Century Gothic for professional stuff, and "typewriter" style fonts for more quirkier news sites. Given that text on the site will need to be in a font that 'everybody' has, the real creative room is with whatever you can use as graphical text. I often check the better quality print media for advertising/illustrations on a topic similar to a site, then go with what I learn from advertising that creative people got paid lots for (mind you, sometimes print advertising is crap). ted_chou12
That font looks like "motivation" to me, its probably inspiring you to go and search it on google or comparing it through your font database in your control panel. AndyB: Indeed - its font for graphical text that I would be interested in. jcombs seems to have a flair for nice fonts. Anyways, thanks for the tip Andy. Will check out some other websites. I hope I wont have to do much guessing at the exact fonts used! Mark: I used that website before. Its pretty good and helped me track down a Celtic font before. As for the top 50, I suppose I should just keep and eye on digg etc. -steve Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/43109-looking-for-font/#findComment-211045 Share on other sites
