My Bright Idea

The Little Guy

Recommended Posts

Today at work, I got the coolest idea (In my opinion). What it is, is a video game that is free to get, and play, all you need to do is download the game. This game would be a racing game, where it is almost like real life.

You start out with like $20k and you are able to buy a POS car, or a new car, then upgrade it, and unlike almost all racing game, there is a max level of how nice your car can get, but in this game, you can upgrade how you would like, so the POS car you bought could be upgraded to be as fast as a Lamborghini, you could also improve its street appeal too.

You car would also take damage that didn't repair its self, you would have to pay to fix the damage on the car, but you wouldn't have to fix the damage, but you car would also get worse and worse if you didn't fix the damage. Soon it would either have to be repaired or it will not start, unless you fixed it.

Races would be online, and users would either race for money or pink slips. There would be no A, B, or C class requirements to join a race.

If a racer looses a race and looses their car, and doesn't have enough money to get a new car, or doesn't have any other cars in their garage, he/she would start over with a starting $20k, and rebuild their racing empire.

There will also be a garage where users could tune, fix and/or upgrade their cars.

All "new" cars would start out as stock cars, so if you were to start out with a Ford Focus, it would have everything in it that you would expect from one from a dealer ship. Another way to buy a car is from someone who is selling their car, (Like Car Soup) and you could browse for a car to buy.

Cars would range from a 60's - now, and from a Geo - Bugatti, all of which can be upgraded to make faster, and better.

- Thats all I got for now, what do you think?

Forza Motorsport, Need for Speed Most Wanted, Test Drive Unlimited have all of those features between them, don't think any single one of them contains all of the features you listed.

If you are assembling a team to do this for free, the end product will be, by far, out of date technology wise by the time it is finished. To get companies to advertise in-game, you would either need a track record, or a beta version of the game to showcase too. Speculate to accumulate and all that ;)

This thread is more than a year old. Please don't revive it unless you have something important to add.
