techiefreak05
http://mystickyposts.com 2 days of work. it's ok though, right? ;-)
LiamProductions
Deffinately... By the way... you have no </body> or </html> tags.
jcombs_31
really? 2 days? There's nothing really there. Bulletin board for what? Why would somebody use this? Design is pretty boring and takes up about 1/4 of my browser at 1280x1024
moberemk
Add a little "BETA" sticker up there and you've got yourself a veritable Web 2.0 application! The lack of a sign-up form is a crippling error-without any way to get new users, there isn't a way to post any content, and without content there won't be any users in the first place. Ergo, failure.
techiefreak05
Yeah, only 2 days. Add a little "BETA" sticker up there and you've got yourself a veritable Web 2.0 application! The lack of a sign-up form is a crippling error-without any way to get new users, there isn't a way to post any content, and without content there won't be any users in the first place. Ergo, failure. Meaning it's good? Yeah, I know. I still have to make the content. Which I know how to go about doing that.
techiefreak05
Alright. Some updates. You can now sign up, and even login. but you cannot do anything yet. also, I have some questions, does anybody know why some of the text is so big? i have it set like "font-sze:8pt;" in a lot of places, but it only works in the footer... techiefreak05
FIXED: the font size looked goofy because I didnt have a DOCTYPE sepecified. I had to add this and it worked: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
moberemk
Always the little things, huh? Well, the design itself is good, but for something like this, maybe you should go with something less Web 2.0 and more reminiscent of old-style corporate bulletin boards made out of cork, just to make it more fun and less sterile. The design work itself is good, no question (the reflection in the logo might be a bit much, but I digress) but it just feels too flat for the dynamic subject matter. techiefreak05
the design is good. ive never heard that about my designs before. haha I changed the header image, and dimmed down the reflection in the proccess
moberemk
The reflection looks better, though the border doesn't really work all that well; also, for your sign-up form, you should have a button instead of a link.
techiefreak05
It's actually not a link, it's a <font> tag, that when clicked, shows the captcha and submit button.
moberemk
Why would you do that though? Hiding it seems pretty pointless. You should just make that a login form and move the registration to another page entirely.
techiefreak05
Putting a login form there seems pointless, seeing as its on the navbar of every page
moberemk
Hmm... you may have a point there. I still disagree with the hiding though-either don't hide it or make the registration form a separate page.
techiefreak05
Well it IS on a seperate page, see the "signup" link in the nav. I just have it there to make it that much easier. I'm always changing stuff. I just changed how I use mod re write... Im having way too much fun with it. haha
calabiyau
hey I just signed up and tried to make a new sticky, there is no submit button. or are you still working on that part? i think you need an identity..a niche...too general if you know what i mean. you must have interests, make it about that. techiefreak05
I'm still working on that part. I have to do it just right. "i think you need an identity..a niche...too general if you know what i mean. you must have interests, make it about that." - what's that mean? calabiyau
i just mean there are a bizillion sites out there...if you want to attract people, it might be better to focus in on a specific topic or area instead of being just a general site for people to post.
