Please could you help.. I need to make this code allow me to use the showDiv function multiple times on the page.. <script type="text/javascript"> function showDiv() { document.getElementById('welcomeDiv').style.display = "block"; } function hideDiv() { document.getElementById('welcomeDiv').style.display = "none"; } </script> <a name="answer" value="Show Div" onclick="showDiv()" >Show</a> <div id="welcomeDiv" style="display:none;" class="answer_list" > <h2>Hello</h2> <button onclick="hideDiv()" class="loginBut" style="font-family: 'Handjet', cursive; font-size: 2EM;">Close</button> </div> Thanks. I'm developing a website for specific EVENTS. Each EVENT lasts for three months and has fixed start date and end date, and they repeat each year: Event 1: Jan. 1st – Mar. 31st Event 2: Apr. 1st – Jun. 30th Event 3: Jul. 1st – Sep. 30th Event 4: Oct. 1st – Dec. 31st I have two functions FUNCTION 1: should run 3 days before start of the event. FUNCTION 2: should run 1 day before start of last month of the event. Functions should execute only that specific event and not other future or past events. Here how the functions should run for each Event: Event 1: Jan. 1st – Mar. 31st Function 1: on Dec 29 Function 2: last day of Feb Event 2: Apr. 1st – Jun. 30th Function 1: on Mar 29 Function 2: last day of May Event 3: Jul. 1st – Sep. 30th Function 1: on Jun 28th Function 2: Last day of Aug Event 4: Oct. 1st – Dec. 31st Function 1: on Sept 28th Function 2: last day of Nov What I'm doing right now is checking today's date and comparing it to the event date. If event start date is > today and event start date < 3 then run function one. My problem/questions: As of now, I have to remember to execute the functions manually on a specific date. How can I make this automated? Can I execute the function using server Cron job? Will that be a good practice? How would you approach in checking the event date to today? I feel there maybe better way of checking the date to run the function instead of what I'm doing. I hope my question is not vague and makes sense. Thank you.

I am trying to convert colors from Hex to HSL (Not HSL to Hex). I am using a PHP function for this purpose. But It's not working properly for some colors. For example for #e04c4c the HSL should be (0, 70%, 59%) which it isn't the case with the function. function hexToHsl($hex) { $red = hexdec(substr($hex, 0, 2)) / 255; $green = hexdec(substr($hex, 2, 2)) / 255; $blue = hexdec(substr($hex, 4, 2)) / 255; $cmin = min($red, $green, $blue); $cmax = max($red, $green, $blue); $delta = $cmax - $cmin; if ($delta === 0) { $hue = 0; } elseif ($cmax === $red) { $hue = (($green - $blue) / $delta) % 6; } elseif ($cmax === $green) { $hue = ($blue - $red) / $delta + 2; } else { $hue = ($red - $green) / $delta + 4; } $hue = round($hue * 60); if ($hue < 0) { $hue += 360; } $lightness = (($cmax + $cmin) / 2) * 100; $saturation = $delta === 0 ? 0 : ($delta / (1 - abs(2 * $lightness - 1))) * 100; if ($saturation < 0) { $saturation += 100; } $lightness = round($lightness); $saturation = round($saturation); //return "hsl(${hue}, ${saturation}%, ${lightness}%)"; return array($hue, $saturation, $lightness); } This is how I used it: $templatePrimaryColor = '#e04c4c'; $templatePrimaryColor = str_replace("#", "",$templatePrimaryColor); list($h,$s,$l) = hexToHsl($templatePrimaryColor); $primaryColor = "hsl(${h}, ${s}%, ${l}%)"; This is the output: echo '<pre>',print_r(hexToHsl($templatePrimaryColor)).'</pre>'; Array ( [0] => 0 [1] => 99 [2] => 59 ) 1 Does anyone know what is the problem there? Thank you.

up votedown votefavorite I've been scraching my head for hours over this problem. I'm basically trying to fetch values from a loop inside a function to pass it to another foreach loop to get the desired results. And it is not working as I intend to. please, point me in the right direction. Here is the code: function ff($s) { $project=""; foreach ($s as $i=> $r ){ $r["friend_one"] == $_SESSION['uname'] ? $friends[]= $r["friend_two"] : $friends[] = $r["friend_one"]; $friend=$friends[$i]; $totalids=$project->totalids($_SESSION['uname'],$friend); } return $totalids; } $totalid= ff($f); print_r($totalid); foreach ($totalid as $v){ $id=$v['user_id']; //other logic to get desired result }

Hello! I'm starting to learn php and for practice I tried to resolve a simple exercise. the idea is to write a php function that inputs a tabe and returns +1 if positive numbers in the table are more than the negative ones. and return -1 if negative numbers in the table are more than the positive ones. 0 if they are equal. this is my code for the function starting from line 8 function plusmin ($tab) { $n = count($tab); $plus = 0; $min = 0; for ($i = 0; $i <= $n; $i++) { if ($tab[$i] > 0){ $plus++; } elseif ($tab[$i] < 0){ $min++; } } if ($plus > $min) { $result = "+1"; } elseif ($plus < $min) { $result = "-1"; } elseif ($plus == $min){ $result = "0"; } return $result; } and just to test it I created a table manually $tab[0] = 1; $tab[1] = -5; $tab[2] = -4; $tab[3] = 7; $tab[4] = -8; $tab[5] = -3; $tab[6] = 2; $tab[7] = 0; $tab[8] = -6; $tab[9] = -9; $k = plusmin($tab); echo $k; when I execute it It works, it shows for the case -1 but the browser shows this error Notice: Undefined offset: 10 in C:\Users\ahmed\PhpstormProjects\Exam 2013\tab.php on line 13 line 13 is this one if ($tab[$i] > 0){ Notice: Undefined offset: 10 in C:\Users\ahmed\PhpstormProjects\Exam 2013\tab.php on line 16 line 16 is this one elseif ($tab[$i] < 0){ I dunno what's the problem. and I know it will turn out to be a stupid problem but hey that's how we all learn. could anyone help? Thanks in advance

I have divs which can be clicked and then another div will pop out with few colors for users to choose. After choosing the colors in the div that pop out the div that is clicked will change into that background. I used class to determain which div is clicked. function works fine but I realized when I try console.log the class I used as global to findout which div to change the background. the console.log keeps adding up also multiplying too. Can I have a pair of eye to see where it's adding things up? var colorHolder = null; //used to store the location where color is picked function colorFieldPicker(onClickSide, xValInput, yValInput,side){ onClickSide.on('click', function(event){ colorHolder = $(this).attr('class'); var yVal = (event.pageY - yValInput) + "px"; var xVal = (event.pageX / xValInput) + "px"; $('.colorSelectBox').css({"left": xVal, "top": yVal}).toggle(); colorPickerOnClick(side); }); } function colorPickerOnClick(side){ $('div.black').add('div.yellow').on('click', function(){ var colorAttr = $(this).attr('value'); var splitClass = colorHolder.split(" "); side.closest('div').find('.'+splitClass[0] + '.'+splitClass[1]).css({"background": colorAttr}).attr('value', colorAttr); console.log(colorHolder); //this is where it's displaying in console that it'll keep on adding up. $('.colorSelectBox').css({"display": "none"}); }); } Thanks everyone in advance.

I have this html to let people select how how many color div wants to have from 1-3 <div class="color-side-a"> <p class="sideABCD-header">Side A</p> <div class="dimension-width"> <p class="dimension-WHC">Colors</p> <select name="number-of-colors" class="number-of-colors"> <option value="" group="1">Select A Number</option> <option value="1" group="1">1</option> <option value="2" group="1">2</option> <option value="3" group="1">3</option> </select> <div class="number-of-color-field"> <div name="color1" class="sideA color1"></div> <div name="color2" class="sideA color2"></div> <div name="color3" class="sideA color3"></div> </div> </div> </div><!-- end side A --> <div class="color-side-b"> <p class="sideABCD-header">Side B</p> <div class="dimension-width"> <p class="dimension-WHC">Colors</p> <select name="number-of-colors" class="number-of-colors"> <option value="" group="colors">Select A Number</option> <option value="1" group="colors">1</option> <option value="2" group="colors">2</option> <option value="3" group="colors">3</option> </select> <div class="number-of-color-field"> <div name="color1" class="sideB color1"></div> <div name="color2" class="sideB color2"></div> <div name="color3" class="sideB color3"></div> </div> </div> </div><!-- end side B --> I have this jquery to show /hide depend on the value chosen which is really just depend on value then show() /hide() the other divs which I didn't show since it's just simple something like value == 1, color1.show() color2.hide() and so on I have this function which then lets people pick the color they wanted in the selectColorBox div I know this code is duplicating but I tried a few ways and not sure how I can combine them in order to reuse most of the codes and if I have side C D E F G I wouldn't need to just copy and paste my codes var colorHolder = null; //used to store the location where color is picked <div class="color-side-a"> <p class="sideABCD-header">Side A</p> <div class="dimension-width"> <p class="dimension-WHC">Colors</p> <select name="number-of-colors" class="number-of-colors"> <option value="" group="1">Select A Number</option> <option value="1" group="1">1</option> <option value="2" group="1">2</option> <option value="3" group="1">3</option> </select> <div class="number-of-color-field"> <div name="color1" class="sideA color1"></div> <div name="color2" class="sideA color2"></div> <div name="color3" class="sideA color3"></div> </div> </div> </div><!-- end side A --> <div class="color-side-b"> <p class="sideABCD-header">Side B</p> <div class="dimension-width"> <p class="dimension-WHC">Colors</p> <select name="number-of-colors" class="number-of-colors"> <option value="" group="colors">Select A Number</option> <option value="1" group="colors">1</option> <option value="2" group="colors">2</option> <option value="3" group="colors">3</option> </select> <div class="number-of-color-field"> <div name="color1" class="sideB color1"></div> <div name="color2" class="sideB color2"></div> <div name="color3" class="sideB color3"></div> </div> </div> </div><!-- end side B --> this is my simple div box for user to pick colors <div class="colorSelectBox"> <div>Special</div> <div> <div class="pink" value="pink"></div> <div class="black" value="black"></div> <div class="yellow" value="yellow"></div> </div> <div class="clear"></div> <div>Original</div> <div> <div class="red"></div> <div class="blue"></div> <div class="grey"></div> <div class="green"></div> <div class="white"></div> </div> </div> how can I combine those two duplicated jquery into one function that I can further use more later if needed?

Hey friends, I just started learning php. I want to know the difference between == and === I exactly want to know the comment section of the given code below. Thanks. <?php $mystring = 'abc'; $findme = 'a'; $pos = strpos($mystring, $findme); // The !== operator can also be used. Using != would not work as expected // because the position of 'a' is 0. The statement (0 != false) evaluates // to false. if ($pos !== false) { echo "The string '$findme' was found in the string '$mystring'"; echo " and exists at position $pos"; } else { echo "The string '$findme' was not found in the string '$mystring'"; } ?>

Hi I am really struggling here i want this to check for fobidden words in an effort to stop sql injection. I cant seem to get it to work function secureit() { global $items_check; $unallowed = array('href', 'www', 'UPDATE', 'INSERT', 'DELETE', 'SET', 'OFFSET', 'ORDER BY', 'union', 'UPDATE', 'DROP TABLE', 'CREATE TABLE'); foreach($unallowed as $field) { if(stristr($items_check, $field) == TRUE) { $mess = 'NO Thanks "'.$items_check .'" is forbidden content!'; return $action = "0"; } } } The idea is that it checks the $items_check against a list of banned words if it finds one it doesnt allow the remaining script to execute.

Hi Folks, Firstly I am new, I have read several topics here and learned a lot, I would class myself as 'slightly better than basic', but my knowledge is mostly gained from reading code. I am making a simple POST form for work, the data gets inserted into MySQL, nice and easy, I can make it work if I write out the statement completely, BUT I need to make a new form, it will have HUNDREDS of input fields, I really don't want to write the code, and I figured programmatically is a good way to go anyway as forms change and new forms may be required, so I set about building a function to completely handle my post data, bind it to a statement and insert it into a table, I have scrapped it a half dozen times already because something fundamentally doesn't work, but I am very close! The function can write the statement, but I need to bind the POST values before I can insert, something going wrong here and I would appreciate some help, I have a feeling it's a problem with an array, but anyway I will show you what I have, give you some comments as to my reasoning, and hopefully you can help me with the last bit public function getColumnNames($table){ $sql = "SELECT COLUMN_NAME FROM INFORMATION_SCHEMA.COLUMNS WHERE table_name = :table"; try { $stmt = $this->dbh->prepare($sql); $stmt->bindValue(':table', $table, PDO::PARAM_STR); $stmt->execute(); $output = array(); while($row = $stmt->fetch(PDO::FETCH_ASSOC)){ $output[] = $row['COLUMN_NAME']; } $all = array($output); $a1 = array_slice($output, 1); // I don't want column 1, it contains the ID, its auto incremented. $a2 = array_slice($a1, 0, -3); // I don't want the last 3 columns as they have default values $selected = array($a2); // contains all the columns except those excluded by array_slice, columns now match all of the input fields on the form foreach ($selected as $row){ $fields = "`" . implode('`, `', $row) . "`"; // I'm making `fields` here, $bind = ":" . implode(', :', $row); // And making :values here } return array ( "raw" => $all, "fields" => $fields, "bind" => $bind ); } catch(PDOException $pe) { trigger_error('Could not connect to MySQL database. ' . $pe->getMessage() , E_USER_ERROR); } } public function addRecord(){ $col = array(); $col = $this->getColumnNames("table"); $raw = array($col['raw']); $fields = array($col['fields']); $bind = array($col['bind']); $columnList = implode('`, `', $fields); $paramList = implode(', ', $bind); $sql = "INSERT INTO `{$this->dbtable}` ($columnList) VALUES ($paramList)"; return $sql; // this returns something like: INSERT INTO `table` (`field1`, `field2`, `field3`) VALUES (:field1, :field2, :field3)"; perfect I thought, now I just need to bind the values from $_POST... then I get stuck.

I' stuck with writing function for searching replaced numbers and would really appreciate if someone can tell me what I'm doing wrong. My table structure looks like: CREATE TABLE servis.zamjene_brojeva ( id INT(11) NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT, vrijeme TIMESTAMP DEFAULT CURRENT_TIMESTAMP ON UPDATE CURRENT_TIMESTAMP, pocetni_broj VARCHAR(55) DEFAULT NULL, zamjenski_broj VARCHAR(55) DEFAULT NULL, glavni_broj VARCHAR(55) DEFAULT NULL, postoji_zamjena INT(1) DEFAULT NULL, PRIMARY KEY (id) ) My function looks like this: //funkcija za traženje zamjene brojeva function zamjena_broja($kataloski_broj){ //Traženje zamjenskog broja $upit_zamjena = "SELECT pocetni_broj, zamjenski_broj, glavni_broj FROM zamjene_brojeva WHERE glavni_broj = '$kataloski_broj'"; $rezultat_zamjena = mysql_query($upit_zamjena) or die (mysql_error()); $row = mysql_fetch_array($rezultat_zamjena); $kataloski_broj = $row["zamjenski_broj"]; $broj_zamjena = mysql_num_rows($rezultat_zamjena); return $kataloski_broj; //Traženje druge zamjene broja if ($broj_zamjena <> 0) { $upit_zamjena = "SELECT pocetni_broj, zamjenski_broj, glavni_broj FROM zamjene_brojeva WHERE pocetni_broj = '$kataloski_broj'"; $rezultat_zamjena = mysql_query($upit_zamjena) or die (mysql_error()); $broj_zamjena2 = mysql_num_rows($rezultat_zamjena); $row2 = mysql_fetch_array($rezultat_zamjena); $kataloski_broj = $row2["zamjenski_broj"]; return $kataloski_broj; //Traženje treće zamjene if ($broj_zamjena2 <> 0) { $upit_zamjena = "SELECT pocetni_broj, zamjenski_broj, glavni_broj FROM zamjene_brojeva WHERE pocetni_broj = '$kataloski_broj'"; $rezultat_zamjena = mysql_query($upit_zamjena) or die (mysql_error()); $broj_zamjena3 = mysql_num_rows($rezultat_zamjena); $row3 = mysql_fetch_array($rezultat_zamjena); $kataloski_broj = $row3["zamjenski_broj"]; return $kataloski_broj; } } } In pocetni_broj is old number and in glavni_broj is new number. But it can happen that number in glavni_broj is old and I need to search in pocetni_broj to see if there is even newer number and it can happen 5 or 6 times like that. I need to find all the numbers that are connected, but I'm not getting that. What am I doing wrong?

Hi everyone, I would like to know if: I have three different forms to create three different mysql codes. Now my code will generate the three mysql codes correctly but each time I tried to generate the second mysql code using another form, the previous will get wiped and therefore I can only have one mysql code working at the moment. (I apologize in advanced if my issue is not clearly stated.) Attached is the code that I have right now. I am trying to get all three mysql codes (Searchsql, Filtersql, Panelsql) correct so I can pass all three mysql queries to a function where it can combine all three queries into one array using the array_intersect function. Please kindly let me know your opinion on the problem and I would really appreciate the help. $object = new Three; class Three { public $Panel, $Search, $Filter; function save_Three() { while($Prow = sqli_fetch_array($Panel, MYSQLI_BOTH)) { $PanelName = $Prow ['name']; } while($Srow = sqli_fetch_array($Search, MYSQLI_BOTH)) { $SearchName = $Srow ['name']; } while($Frow = sqli_fetch_array($Filter, MYSQLI_BOTH)) { $FilterName = $Frow ['name']; } $Combined = array_intersect($Panel, $Search, $Filter); foreach ($Combined as $item) print $item; } } $Panelsql = "SELECT DISTINCT aID, name from test.article"; if (isset($_GET['pid'])) { $pID= $_GET['pid']; echo "$pID"; $Panelsql = "SELECT DISTINCT aID, name from test.a_m, test.platform, test.message, test.article where aid in (SELECT DISTINCT assocAID from test.a_m, test.platform, test.message where assocMID in (SELECT mID from test.message, test.platform where pID=$pID and pID = assocPID))"; } else if (isset($_GET['mid'])) { $mID= $_GET['mid']; $Panelsql = "SELECT DISTINCT aID, name from a_m, message, article where aid in (SELECT DISTINCT assocAID from a_m, message where mID=$mID and mID = assocMID)"; } else { $Panelsql = "SELECT DISTINCT aID, name from article"; } $object->Panel = $Panelsql; $aRegions = $_POST['RegionSelected']; $Filtersql = 'SELECT * FROM test.article'; if(isset($aRegions)) { $Filtersql .= ' WHERE 1 AND ('; foreach ($aRegions as $word) if($word==$aRegions[count($aRegions)-1]) { $Filtersql .= " Region = '". $word ."')"; } else { $Filtersql .= " Region = '". $word ."' If i include 'languages/english.php'; in testFunction() then everything works. Any other way to make $lang working without including language file in testFunction(). Hi all, I have 3 files, namely, [custom.js / allitem.php / fetch_pages.php]. where i have been compiling, studying and at the same time create a website of my own. I am a total newbie, so i gather examples from the entire web and try to put it together. But right now, I am stuck for 3 long days going 4 days tomorrow in a single problem whereas my head is banging on how to do it. Also been searching in internet of the same problem this has. but unfortunately, i find similar but still cant get it to work. The codes below are currently working as I want it to be. Except from starting at this location, at [fetch_pages.php] --> <span class="page_name"><a class="show-popup" href="#?id='.$row['id'].'">'.$row['name'].'</a></span> Where I dont know how to retrieve the value of id='.$row['id'].' and passed it to below location and use it to query the products where id=$id. <div class="overlay-bg" id="overlay-bg"> <div class="overlay-content"> $result = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM products WHERE id=$id", $mysqli); </div> </div> Can anyone help me code it out from this. Hi everyone. I am using Wordpress and have a calendar plugin I'm using to display events. I'm trying to get the output of a function to display differently in one of my templates (have the output on one line). By default the plugin is having the output appear on multiple lines. Is it possible to wrap the function in a div to target it and remove the line breaks? I haven't been able to find anything to force the output to be on a single line. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong since I'm a newbie at this, or if I'd need to use something else other than CSS since the function does use a class, as shown here in the plugin's docs. Any advice or tips would be grealty appreciated, as I'm really lost right now. Thanks for taking the time to read this, and of course, for any assistance! Sean This is what I've added to my template thus far: <div class="tribe-events-event-category-list"> <?php echo Tribe_Register_Meta::event_category( 'tribe_event_category' ) ?> </div> Here are a couple images of how the output is being displayed by default (on two lines). Again, I don't want to change the output everywhere on my site; only on a certain php template.

HI, I am a beginner at programing and I have to do this project where it is asking me to validate any ISBN 13 number. I know how to set up the input page, but I am having or you could say no Idea how to validate a number if user inputs data in the input page. I have some could below that I think it should be included, but if someone has better way to do it then I would be appreciate it. here is the input page code: <form method="POST" action="Process_isbn13.php"> <p>Enter the ISBN 13: <input type="text" name="isbn13"/></p> <input type="submit" name="Submit" value="Submit" /> </form> I have this so far for my processing page to validate the ISBN 13 number! <?php function isValidISBN13($isbn) { $sum = 0; for ($i = 0; $i < 13; $i++) { if ($isbn[$i] === 'X') { $value = 13; } else { $value = $isbn[$i]; } $sum += ($i + 1) * $value; } } ?> I know there should be more like if it is empty it should say it's empty do it again and if it is not validate then it would say that. The most important thing I need is the code so if i enter a validate ISBN 13 number it would say it's validate! Someone please help me with the code needed to check if ISBN 13 number is validate.

Hello All, I am trying to turn a PHP application I made about a year ago into a WordPress plugin. I'm reasonably new in the world of WordPress plugins and have what I think will be a simple question. My plugin creates a shortcode, and when the WordPress page with that short code on is loaded, the program calls a function and displays it. My question is, within that function, how do I create a link or button (or something else) which will run the chosen function. Here is what I mean: function welcome() { ?>Welcome. This is the first screen of the plugin. Click <a href="???">here</a> to register. } function register() { register here } How would I make the above piece of code work. My thanks in advance.
