samona
Hi, In order for my monitor to work at boot time, I have to unplug it and then replug it. Anyone have any ideas why this would happen? Zane
Have you tried using another monitor? If another monitor works fine then it is your monitor that is "broken" If another monitor works the same way then it is your video card. At what point do you have to plug the monitor back in? At Windows boot? At POST? Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/149991-solved-monitor-must-be-unplugged-to-work/#findComment-787726 Share on other sites
jcombs_31
Do you have multiple video cards (onboard + card) ? . If you do you probably have to disable the onboard video in the Bios. Just a thought because I've seen a similar problem. samona
I do have two video cards on the computer. This happens when the desktop starts to load up. The other monitors load but this one monitor has to be unpluged and plugged back in for it to work. revraz
I would wager this is a monitor issue. My Gateway does this once in awhile as well, no matter what PC it's hooked up to. Zane
i bet you it is a software issue. try uninstalling your nvidia or ATI softwre (whatever it may be) and then reinstall it. better yet.....go get the latest update of the software from the vendor's website.
