purencool
hi phpfreaks I am studying web development and decided to put up my own site website. www.purencool.com What do you think? purencool Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/161318-what-do-you-think/ Share on other sites
gamerzfuse
It's a little plain with the text, but personally my preferences are as follows: a) Get rid of the PNC animation, it looks old. b) Background should be more professional, less gimmicky c) Get rid of that Contact link and generate yourself a PHP contact page, mailto: links only work for half the people these days. Hope that helps. Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/161318-what-do-you-think/#findComment-851341 Share on other sites
purencool
Thanks that is great. I need a objective point of view =) I know that it is a little plain I am going to add content as I go but I want it to just be active and appropriate. Does anyone else have any ideas? Adam
Yeah I agree, the text is definitely too plain compared to the background and border. I'd also make that border even width all the way round, looks a bit odd being wider on the sides. By the way the border also breaks in IE7! Border. I have no idea what the purpose of that GIF is but it drags the page down IMO. Glad to see the XHTML validated! The <center> tag is deprecated by the way... Not bad! I like orange... tibberous
Yeah, get rid of the gif and if you have to have it on there for some reason, do it in Flash at 25 fps. TheFilmGod
Not terrible for your first website. You don't use headings. Otherwise, semantically wise your website isn't too bad. I hate the background and the 1990 animation. You shouldn't use the pipe character to emulate a border between the footer links. Use a floated listed and add "border-right". purencool
what do you mean by pipe character? I found out "|" This is great I am really looking differently at the way I will restructure the page =). DarkSuperHero
I agree with all the points before mine, also i got felt your 3 pages are a bit disconnected....the copyright/blog(articles)/ and index...navigation is not consistent..... also on your index page your home button links to: http://www.purencool.com/index.html which is a broken link for me...
