I've been playing online the past two months or so and everything was fine up until about a week ago. Firstly, sometimes whenever I hit the middle black PES button on my controller while online, my friends list and other options wouldn't show up. They'd just show a continuous loading image. Then when I'd try to get back out and back into the game, the screen would just stay on that see-through black colour, as if it couldn't get back out of it. So I decided to not press the middle black PES button anymore, and everything was fine. Then I noticed that whenever I was playing COD4 online and I wanted to switch match type (from say Team Deathmatch to Mercenary Deathmatch), my PlayStation would just freeze, forcing me to turn the power off. So I decided, "hey, I like Team Deathmatch, so what the hell". This morning, I tried playing Team Deathmatch and everytime I joined a match lobby, my PlayStation would just freeze up on me. I've turned off my router, and restarted it; to no avail. I've wiped the disk and made sure they're aren't any scratches on it. Has anyone got any idea what the hell might be going on? I only really play COD4 online, so these problems have only been experience while playing said game.

you should have just got an xbox 360 lol.

Please stop posting irrelevant things in topics. Recently you've been doing that a lot. We're not really interested in another Xbox 360 vs PS3 discussion. Especially because it's entirely irrelevant to the fact that waynewex' PS3 is freezing.

I think an Xbox360 VS PS3 discussion would be great! Afterwords we could have a Mac VS PC (Sorry, linux!) and then a Firefox VS Internet Explorer! Or we could be the first to have a Bing VS Google discussion!

I think I figured out what is causing it to freeze (kinda). Everytime I switch match type, it freezes. The night before last, I had a few friends in my "party", so I went for team deathmatch instead of mercenary team deathmatch. However, yesterday morning, I went to change back again. It seems that I can only change match type if I have people in my party. As for the reason that causes it to freeze? Stumped. Seems to be happening on COD WAW too.

isnt there a memory flush control that you can perform and then reupdate the system ?, maybe that may help re align the update hierarchy
