SoftBB is a php forum script.

We recently started development.

We are looking for staff and testers as we hope to make this a main stream software once we have worked on it a bit.

Please feel free to test to forum out as we need people to test it in different browsers, os, and to test features.

You should really brush up on SQL if you cannot achieve this as they're basic queries

You need to use COUNT() to count the number of threads and use the WHERE clause to only select the rows in that particular category

As for the latest topic, it's just a case of ordering by date and limiting to 1 where the post's parent forum is the current forums id

From what i can see from the link you supplied, you are about 10 years from a release date!

 

Can i ask why another forum software? Is it going to be free or paid?

 

Personaly i think you would be well advised to take a moment, look at some of the other forum software providers out there, and ask yourself "is it really worth it"?

 

smf = free

mybb = free

 

There are two straight off the top of my head that are pretty cute forums with a whole bunch of features that is going to take you a LONG time to catch up with...
