JeremyCanada26
I'm curious for a web app game that gets 5,000 users monthly, about how many of those users actually attempt to hack the game in some way? I know it's kind of strange to talk about hacker numbers, but maybe someone out there knows. Philip
I don't think you're going to get the answer you're looking for. It's going to vary wildly between sites Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/239912-how-many-people-try-to-hack-a-web-app-game/#findComment-1232390 Share on other sites
ignace
I would. I already did a few times in the past, even cash-games, but I make it obvious it has been hacked. I would set my score to something like 99999999999999 which usually results in the highest possible number for a 32-bit signed integer. Usually the leak is patched 'quickly' thereafter otherwise I keep hacking it until they do The exploits I'm talking about are of real basic nature and should be easy for anyone with some background in programming to find and exploit/fix them. Pikachu2000
Why even be concerned about how many users will try actually to hack anything? You should be coding with the assumption that all the users will be trying to hack it. Are you looking for a guess or an actual statistic? What are you asking for BTW?
