ryanfilard
2 days ago I just set up a home server system in my basement. Well... It rained a lot and my basement flooded. FML. I had the equipment listed on my insurance do you think they would cover water damage? :-\ Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/267762-had-a-server-in-my-basement/ Share on other sites

KevinM1
Is it flood insurance? If not, you're likely screwed. Lesson learned: don't place electronics in an area that can flood. floridaflatlander
I think businesses MAY be eligible for federal assistance if they live or own a business in a county declared a major disaster area by the President. I am sure there are many hoops to jump through. ryanfilard
When my power was out this morning I went down stairs and almost fainted. But now my basement is drained and I am no longer going to host servers down there. Well. I feel very lucky as Philip said. Gratz, consider yourself very lucky. It may be different now but years ago I had a cheap rider that allowed for 5-10k(somewhere around there) in business equipment at my house. I want to say 10k but that seems like alot for twenty plus years ago. Of course I bought a computer with 256k of ram, 20 mg running at 20 ghv for 3k, I thought I was the man.
