3 Hours isnt enough time to create what you want to be creating if you're very new to PHP. If you're learning a new thing it takes time, and if you haven't got the time then don't learn it. Buy a book and read it when you have time...

Yes i posted a whole new login script for you which works perfectly. If you dont want it thats fine. But follow some tutorials on phpfreaks.com and other websites maybe and learn off them when you can find the time.

Wow, three hours. I'm amazed you're not an expert by now.

If you don't have the time to learn, and you absolutely need something done, you hire someone else to do it for you, who HAS devoted the time and energy to learning.

I would use the script, it's just the fact that I would have to create a whole new table on MySQL, then adapt all the files to work with it. I will probably use it anyway, it would just mean 3 hours of tutorials would go to waste when I could've been doing homework. I will probably end up using it anyway :(.

You can spend hours up on hours of learning php, but none of it goes to waste. You build scripts for learning purposes and will probably never use them again... nothing is a waste if you're taking in everything when learning instead of just copy and pasting everything you see and hope for the best.

Buy a book from a store if you know of anywhere or buy from the the web.

I have to agree with those above trecool999.

You can't expect to learn Alegebra in one night and PHP is no different. PHP may be faster than most traditional programming languages but in essence your learning a whole new langauge. When someone says to me Go through that door, I know what they are saying and what they mean. When PHP says substr or mysql_query you need to be able to know what that means and what they do.

Try at an easier plataeu and work your way up. If your new to learning PHP I recommend "PHP In Easy Steps" by Mike McGrath. It includes definitions of functions and mysql, and even how to make login scripts.

Rome wasen't built in a day, neithier are complex PHP scripts ;)

I'm going to have to disagree on that. Complex PHP scripts can be built in a day if you spend you entire day on it  ;) I'm just kidding, I just couldn't resist. haha.

You'd need one really large bottle of Fanta :P
