trq Posted December 11, 2007 Share Posted December 11, 2007 I'll agree, php does suck to some extent. It has not been designed well if at all. More thrown together as needs have grown. However, in saying that, no language is perfect. Some come close (Ruby / Python), but no one language will ever be considered perfect. PHP still enjoys enormous popularity, and even if most of its users are inexperienced hacks, there are allot of talented individuals writing great software with it. Have you ever tried to write PHP before? PHP is a way of transmitting data and pulling data from databases and stuff. html is just a language used to make your site look good. And better than 10 php's? You can have php installed on a server 1,000,000 times and it wouldnt make the language run any faster or better. On top of that PHP is a programming language while html is a simple markup language. There really is no comparison. PHP is able to evaluate expressions, HTML cannot.
