  1. Take a look at SQL Buddy, a majority of it is AJAX
  2. Thanks guys And Maq, like you need another reason to bother me
  3. I'm not sure if it is related, but I've noticed a memory leak on some silverlight applications (namely netflix) with the latest version of chrome.
  4. Damn, I knew there was a downside to this!
  5. Cheers !
  6. I personally am a fan of the PHP6 ones that have been around for years.
  7. Heh. I have a whole list of them that we use at work (but I do work for a web analytics agency, so that might explain why): Google Analytics as thorpe mentioned, mostly realtime [they do have a new real time section, but for a majority of the reports there is a slight processing delay] pion which integrates with other analytics tools, but allows you to replay visitor sessions Piwik an open source of Google Analytics and is real time. Omniture, not always real time (15-30min delays) but very powerful Yahoo! Web Analytics is another real time one, but requires to either you to purchase Yahoo's PPC ads, use their ecommerce (not sure if this is still available) or have a consultant like us. Stat Counter is a simpler one and tbh, I've never been a big fan of it. Webtrends *shudder*, I can't believe I just added this one. It is a tool, and a powerful one, I just hate it Plus, 24hr reporting delay. Each have their own pros and cons. Why did I list analytics tools? TBH I don't really see the point in the "real time logging." Sure, you had 50 people using the contact form or 3,345 people are viewing this one page... but why? You don't see the whole picture, just bits and pieces of it. In other words, it's not actionable data.
  8. If you sent it recently it could be because of the server downtime, in which you should resend it.
  9. That just feels dirty watching.... Although I'd prefer to see his screen than the actual guy.
  10. I'm a flavor of the day kind of person, it seriously changes every few days
  11. You're describing an auto-complete field. Plenty of tutorials & JS framework plugins that can help you with that.
  12. Yar, it is indeed $$. Figuring out the language (by grabbing a string) and the cost
  13. SP1 is service pack 1, which is a windows update. Check to see if you have admin privs, Start -> Control Panel -> User Accounts -> User Accounts -> Change Your Account Type. You might just need to turn off (or at least down) the UAC like scootash mentioned.
  14. I've never had a problem with Admin accounts on my Win7 boxes. In fact.. If you have another account on there that has admin privs, you should be able to bump yours up to that no problem. This is standard from what I recall, but perhaps installations have changed since SP1 is included.
  15. It's like our slang for a dollar (a buck, a washington, etc.)
  16. Pft, like anybody uses any currency that isn't the US Dollar....
  17. WTF is wrong with you people?!
  18. Working from home isn't always the best, trust me haha
  19. Eww I don't like where your normal pipe/backslash chars are. That would feel icky
  20. ¬ is a negation symbol (the same as what ! does to a var in php) ¦ is the broken bar (or broken pipe) and as far as I know there really isn't a use for it. Sometimes it can be used in exchange of the pipe car ( | ), but I'm pretty sure math gurus will say nono to that.
  21. Any pages that do not exist should be permanently redirected to the new page, yes. Take a look at a very nice Google sponsored PDF.
  22. In which case, I'd push back with what Dan said:
  23. As long as you're not changing your URL structure, the content on the page and simply switching the JS library from another (or none) to jQuery you're fine. You haven't told us a lot of what you've done, so we can't really give you anymore of a specific answer
  24. As long as you are using jQuery for presentation and have non-JS fallbacks, you should be fine.
