  1. I figured the first paragraph was clear enough Well, you know how people tend to skip over it unless its told to them billions of times and then they might get the hint.
  2. Break it up into chunks, kinda same as before by using by breaking it up mail queue, or use a 3rd party for mailing lists. Remember, not only will you overload your server if you try to send too many out at a time, but also some ISPs will think you are spam if they get too many emails from the same ip at the same time.
  3. Note: do at your own risk.
  4. I like the 3rd option the best!
  5. I'd strongly suggest letting the pros (Google Checkout, Paypal, etc) do the hard work for you when it comes to dealing with people's money.
  6. Depends on what it is going to be used for.
  7. http://www.phpfreaks.com/forums/index.php?action=profile;area=showposts;sa=topics;u=53313 By going to a user's profile you can easily see all topics and posts they have posted. The link above is for all of your topics. User Profile > Show Posts > Show Topics (or Posts)
  8. You could use their API to upload/retrieve embed info from their site. It's not a pre-made script though.
  9. Be careful what you wish for
  10. .. yes I answered that position: fixed; like I mentioned in my post. Just note IE doesn't always play nicely, but a good google search on ie & fixed position will show you how to fix it.
  11. A simple view page source would have answered your question. Its simply a div that is positioned at bottom:0 with a fixed position setting as well as a high z-index to force it to be on top of everything else.
  12. That should still be able to handle Aero without any problems.
  13. Yes, but right now isn't in a few years is it? Yeah, I'd check it. I'm running on 8 and I haven't had a problem with Aero at all. What graphics cards do you have for it?
  14. Mmmm i7
  15. It's missing some of the best stuff like marquee, flashing gifs, etc. LOL it gets better! Click on the Paint Pictures link http://yvettesbridalformal.com/pictura.html
  16. I have a suspicion oni-kun is just messing with you guys... but if not: A more recent article than the one oni posted shows IE8 didn't win a single speed test: http://www.pcworld.com/article/168623/browser_speed_tests_latest_firefox_is_faster_but_not_as_fast_as_google_chrome.html Also - its not about speed. Sure IE6 might be able to win in a speed test (although I kinda doubt it), but perhaps thats because its just flying through the render process ignoring complaint code
  17. You posted in the wrong section, so it was moved. Dunno where the redirect link went. http://www.phpfreaks.com/forums/index.php/topic,286328.0.html
  18. If you upload it to google docs, you have the option of embedding it.
  19. Nice crack
  20. They probably use a bloated CMS that doesn't care what the end result code is as long as it looks right in the end. And as for being 'coded' it is probably done by somebody who just uses a wysiwyg editor, or drop someone else's code in there. That's been my experiences at least
  21. Yeah, thats the gist of it. You should have some options to turn off/on power saving features on specific parts of your laptop. So you can have a super dim screen, but keep your wireless with full power, etc. Tweak it until you find the optimal solution for you.
  22. Okay, my mistake oni. I guess by underclocking I meant bring the speed of the cpu down in general, by whatever means, not specifically changing the clock speed. Perhaps I shouldnt have used the word "underclock." AMD also has a similar feature to speedstep (powernow for laptops and cool 'n quiet for the desktop.) Anyways, it is sort of getting offtopic and I really don't feel like getting into an argument. The point was that the OS will lower the amount of power to certain parts of the laptop when in power save mode thus reducing performance.
  23. I hope you have something to back that up, because I quote from http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/Whats-new-in-managing-power-settings: It is the same technology most graphics cards utilize, where they underclock the core to keep it running cooler and consume less power, and when they hit a certain % of usage, they bring the clock speed back up.
  24. Windows Mobile has a plugin for WMP that support PLS if I remember correctly. Don't think it was a MS plugin, but a 3rd party.
