Since PHP is not a client side language, this has nothing to do with PHP. It has everything to do with your form.

1) Make sure you've enabled the mail server. 2) Look here for configuration help: http://www.google.com/search?q=xampp+configure+mail+server
-
If you're using a mail server in a local environment (non-hosted solution), you need to modify the php.ini file to point to a mail server that would be running on the local environment. Did you install LAMP/XAMP/etc?

Mind posting the solution for anyone else that finds this thread? And please mark the thread as solved.

You will have to explicitly set $clientN to $_SESSION['client'] on this page as well. $_SESSION is a global variable, nothing else.

Might want to tell us where those lines are.

1) Don't create a table for each entry. 2) 90% of that code is the same thing... you can reduce it GREATLY. Your if portion should only be around the second <td> element. 3) You're not showing us the loop that pulls from the database. 4) Are you creating a row that you're not showing us here?

It appears that you got hacked.

Risk is always assumed with start-ups. You cannot get around it.

This is a good companion and is linked from that site several times: http://www.ilovejackdaniels.com/cheat-sheets/

I would say that's very good GCP. Why do you put it in quotes? That makes it seem like you don't agree. Generally we require class name/author/date created/date updated/inputs/description of methods and what their function is.

Kinda boring when it really comes down to it. The layout is too high of a contrast (black/white). You shouldn't really go that far on the color scales, IMO. It's very blocky as well and it looks like you pretty much stole most of the graphics from other sites. There's really not much to critique.

You might be better off just making one. It's not that hard. I did some searching and found a half decent word template, but I ended up using www.freshbooks.com instead.

The text in general is just too close together.. even a few pixels here and there could give it a lot of breathing room and make it easier to read.

Cool it, TheFilmGod. Either critique the website or get out of the thread.

A few things: 1) The main graphic may look good but not on that background. 2) The "motto" or whatever you call it is also a bad color for that background... in fact, I'd probably choose a new background completely. The site is too white/gray. I'd go with something darker for the background. 3) Under skills I would expect to see what you have listed under services. Instead you list your development platform and rattle off a bunch of languages. Most of the people that are going to come to you don't give a rat's ass what language you program it in. They just want to hand you some specs and let you deal with it. And they certainly don't care about your development software (references to LAMP). I'd drop the skills page and list the technologies under services. 4) I'd be careful about claiming you can handle "any language". You could get yourself in a lot of trouble very quickly. 5) I'd have a native english speaker check your grammar. It's not what I would consider professional to have poor grammar on your website. 6) Testimonials are more believable if you can link to the work you've done. I know this isn't always possible but you should try to do it. Also, if you only have 2, you may just leave that part out. If you claim to have all the experience you say you do, you would expect to have more quotes to post.

Not bad. It looks like you're using a few different fonts. I'd try to clean that up for consistency. Otherwise it's fairly clean. You might consider adding a little more padding to come of the boxes. All the words kind of mesh together.

In response to: 1) Mainly the bars (gray)... I didn't realize the banner would be customizable... you might want to throw something in there that looks better from a marketing standpoint. 2) The bars, the background... the tabs actually look decent. At a bare minimum, I'd use a background image/color for the top area. 3) I understand the problem with the tabs... but your lines stop at a certain point. You can have a left-aligned site and still have the bars and dividers extend the length of the window. 4) Submitting as a user... I didn't try as admin. 5) I'm viewing from Firefox (version 3 RC2). And if you say "screw IE", you're going to piss off more than 50% of the people that would use your product. I'm a firm hater of IE as well, but reality is reality, my friend. 6) If you look at the source of the page, there is a bunch of CSS in your <head> tag. ?? 7) Use CSS for layout? divs and whatnot... Again, viewing in Firefox. I can test it in Opera if you want. As for positive feedback... not much. I like the tabs, that's about it. There are a lot of other open source ticket systems that are styled much better and operate more effectively than this. Plus you're still missing a fair amount of functionality. I'm not going to list them out... just google other ticket systems and look at the features list and compare it to yours.

Overall, I think it's a good concept. Specific points: 1) Like dare87, I don't like the scroll inside the scroll. It's annoying and pointless. There are ways to get your same effect and avoid the inside scroll. It's all about positioning. 2) Some of the pages open up to what appears to be an old design. You should really stick to one design/layout for the entire site. 3) The content area could use some padding. The text is right up next to the edges and it looks unprofessional. 4) I don't see any way to contact this group without going to the main institution's website. Just a few ideas that should help. -
Things I don't like: 1) Graphics are all very poorly done. 2) You need more color... right now it's a lot of black and gray, very boring. 3) It doesn't play well with large resolutions. It's all smashed to the left of the screen. 4) Submitting a ticket should take you to the status area of your tickets, not just show the form again. 5) Should be cross-browser compatible. I lose respect for developers when they put "works best on X browser" on their sites. 6) Your CSS should be linked, not in the page itself. 7) You are using tables for general layout... this is not the best way to go. 8 ) Your fonts are not consistent: example would be the column contents on the projects screen. They're varying sizes and it does not look uniform. Overall it's not a very friendly interface nor is it appealing to look at. To be commercially acceptable, you should probably consider hiring a designer to do some of the interface for you if you can't produce something better than your current attempt (no offense).

If you don't have anything useful to add, please don't reply. Overall it's pretty decent for what it is. My only complaint is that the details on the models when you have a bunch of them on screen is difficult to read... like you're squishing an image. That and the whole "scroll into view" thing on the main page is kinda cheesy.

Ick... I tried FCK for a while but got sick of it as well. I'm really liking this one so far. My clients seem to like the beta I've shown them in my CMS as well.

So tinyMCE finally pissed me off. They upgraded versions and all the calls are completely different. Plus they did a bunch of other stuff that generally pissed me off. So I found this: http://www.spaweditor.com/en/disp.php/en_products/en_spaw/en_spaw_about Much better IMO and has a lot of the stuff (like a file manager) built in that tinyMCE had as a "plugin". Just thought some of you might care.
