We're not the only board that does this type of thing. It is unfortunate that we have to do this to our members, but it's either this or get flooded with spam from time to time.

version of what? the version of SMF is not that old and the main site code is removed. Not a bad idea on changing the db connection info, however. I'll talk to Eric about it.

Not sure if it will work, but you could have your very first row as 2 columns that use the "colspan=6" method and set the width of that. You can use a height on the row or the td elements to make it very short. Just an idea.

I'm not sure what is going on there but we'll look into it. The site will be back up as soon as we can rebuild it. Just be patient with us.

Yeah, we'll be redoing that completely. Instructions will be much more readily available.

Long story short, it doesn't have anything to do with SMF. They hacked us through SQL injection via the main site.

The main site will be back... we're working on a complete re-write so it will take a little time. We just ask for your patience.

Using the beta? It works fine in the latest 2.0 build.

Ron can install mods just like I can. The problem is keep up with all of that when we have to do an update. Look, this thread is going no where fast, so like many others before it I see no point in continuing the conversation. Locked.

Locking threads in this board means the discussion is over. Many people will suggest something and drone on about it like they can talk us into it. Often it's more efficient to close it and move on. And experience in terms of running this board, providing options for a large community, etc, etc. Having dealt with online communities for the number of years that I have, I tend to get a feel for what is or is not going to work, and that goes for the rest of the staff as well.

Not sure what "help" section you're referring to but it must be old information. We do not allow users to delete information. If you have sensitive information one of the admins or mods can remove it, but otherwise it will remain. This collection of information is searchable by all of our members and the content of all threads is very valuable to us. 448191 made some very good points as well.

I'm testing 2.0 on another site of mine... looks pretty solid, but we may wait a month or so to make sure the major flaws (if any) are caught.
