A single message probably won't have the same user in the to and from column will it. Think about it.
-
Not hard to find out by searching on Google. IE6 is one.

Well you aren't selecting any columns. Why don't you post your ACTUAL code. Including the mysql error and final query as demonstrated in my debugging your sql link. Edit: Also, it appears you're trying to select a message that someone apparently sent to themselves.

Everything inside the onchange attribute is javascript.
-
Because it can't. HTML is purely markup. It cannot do math. What are you confused about? The functions you use in an onchange are irrelevant to how they work.
-
You should use the full path from your webroot, rather than relative paths with ../

A clause of just WHERE 0 will return 0 results. Whichever has the 1 will have results. Compare his to David's code and it's obvious.
-
Those are ternary statements, it's a consolidated if/else. if(isset($_GET['institute'])({ $tutor = '0'; }else{ $tutor = '1'; }

You shouldn't put quotes around numeric values. You need to capture the mysql error.

Help with getting ID from a form in While loop to my AJAX
Jessica replied to piehead's topic in Javascript Help
Your unique id should be a hidden input field. -
You need to check for MySQL errors. And stop putting your variables in strings.
-
Yeah if you only ever need that one column, Barand's way works great too.

I wrote a tutorial about this that should help you. The way I displayed the data was different, but you should be able to take the idea and figure it out from there. Give it a shot and let me know if you need help with it. http://thewebmason.com/tutorial-parent-child-lists/ The basic concept is using an ORDER in your query, and then a variable to hold the country name of the previous row.

PHP Help - Incrementing value on page and recording results
Jessica replied to hostingandposting's topic in PHP Coding Help
Do you have access to the CODE for the application? Is this really your company? Asking you to do work and not giving you the resources to do your job is a big red flag. Also asking you to do work that isn't within your skillset. -
PHP Help - Incrementing value on page and recording results
Jessica replied to hostingandposting's topic in PHP Coding Help
That doesn't make any sense. If you already have an interface to get you the employee's name from their number, you should just query the source of the data (which SHOULD be a database) and get the list you need. -
New Student having trouble with Includes and directory structure
Jessica replied to Jaloney's topic in PHP Coding Help
You did what the sentence told you to do. Does the rest of the assignment explain how you then include the files in your script? It's not like "includes" is a magic folder. -

POST THE CODE for crying out loud. http://www.php.net/manual/en/mysqli.quickstart.prepared-statements.php http://www.php.net/manual/en/class.mysqli-stmt.php There is no fetch_array on a prepared statement. The error message is pretty clear.
-
Why are you creating your query using a constant, a variable table name, and a regular string? Your code doesn't have anything about prepare() in it.
-
See, it's a lot easier when you actually ask the question.
-
SELECT cols FROM tbl ORDER BY id_col DESC LIMIT 6
-
Uhm. You are "hostile" to using the functionality designed to make life easier on you because....? Are you saying you want all the results in an array, and then access the array key? Or you want to give a function the ID and get that row?

How to create an item link to a details page in php
Jessica replied to josephbupe's topic in PHP Coding Help
Every time you post the code it's the SAME CODE. You added $c_id = $_GET['c_id'] to the main page, but does THAT page have a GET variable? You need to learn how the query string / $_GET superglobal works, and I think some basic knowledge on variables and logic. -
Line 7 is all kinds of wrong. Close the string and then end the line.
