Who's your favorite artist, musician, band, etc?

Recommended Posts

Alright! I go into miscellaneous chat expecting there to be some threads about nothing more than kickin' the shit. And I find more help threads comon' folks! Let's try and just get some general discussions going in here. So, thread title says it all:

I have to go with the Grateful Dead, nothing else even comes close on my list.  :D

I go through that too, recently I've been listening to a lot of Linkin Park, Fort Minor, and various underground real hip-hop groups like Atmosphere and Eydea while studying. When it comes down to it though. A coffee, the Dead, and a smoke are sometimes the only things that motivates me out of bed in the morning haha.

The Black Keys, White Stripes, Raconteurs, and The Strokes

Hell yeah! New Black Keys album is amazing, but it still can't beat their older stuff when it was just Dan and Patrick. Saw them a couple of years ago in a club with about a hundred people there - was a right night! You like Jack White's newest band The Dead Weather?

Zeppelin

Can't beat the classics either :) My Ipod is full of Zeppelin, Hendrix, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Rolling Stones, early Aerosmith, etc!

Offt, this is a hard one. I range from anything from The Black Keys (they do the best music videos!) to Jack Johnson to Trentemoller to Audio Slave. Just so long as it isn't rap. Remember, rap is 75% crap.

I tend to go through genre's though, not artists. But that's because I use last.fm for my music and I just crack a genre radio on. Currently, I'm on Electronic, Minimal or Experimental.

Completely addicted to this song at the moment. :D

Anything by Billy Corgan of the Smashing Pumpkins.  No matter what mood I'm in, he has a song to fit it.

If you haven't seen this music video by the Smashing Pumpkins you should check it out. It's amazing, very sad though.

[...] The Black Keys [...] Just so long as it isn't rap. Remember, rap is 75% crap.

Heard the rap-rock album "Blakroc" that the Black Keys did with some rappers?

I've heard a few songs from it, it falls in the 25% ;D It's not bad in terms of rap, but I wouldn't sit down with an aim to listen to it like I would with other artists/albums.

This thread is more than a year old. Please don't revive it unless you have something important to add.
