Site redisgn..

I have recently  remade a fairly blah website that I threw together to just do something. I tried to restructure the whole thing to flow from no more than 3 clicks to see everything in a particular area. I tried to keep it straight forward and pull everything together with a very pleasant theme. I made what in my opinion is a very elegantly simple photo gallery class that you should look at, and the blog was rewritten to paginate results from newest to oldest limiting 5 to page.

Let me know what you think!

Why the same picture in the header and the body?  I'm not a big fan. The header is too big, you need more color, you need a little more style.  Why do you have two menus?  Either drop the horizontal menu, or make the side menu only relate to the current section.  This is too redundant.

Actually, the two menus are different depending on the link you have clicked.

I can change the photo rather quickly and will do that, the colors are based on my wife's input that it be purple, kind of hard to do and make look nice, but I tried anyway.

The reason many of the guest book entries are from myself and family is because the sql server crashed and I lost all of that. I had backed it up but was not able to restore all the stuff because I could not post the 14mb of info there.

I was actually originally more concerned about the functionality of the site in relation to how it navigated than I was with the original design. I have visitors that not the most web savvy and tried to keep it very straight forward. I also tried to keep the contrast relatively high when it comes to text color on the background to make it easier to read.
