roopurt18
I like it, although it took me a moment to realize that was a mouse and not a moon. As a programmer, I like the "personal computer specialists" font. ;^] Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/42386-logo-for-pc-repair-company/#findComment-205624 Share on other sites
jcombs_31
really, that looks like a moon to you? Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/42386-logo-for-pc-repair-company/#findComment-205630 Share on other sites
448191
The main font (fulton & assoc) is not right for the theme. A more contemporary font would be more appropiate. The mouse is fine, it's the font that makes you expect a traditional image like a moon. jcombs_31
I'm not sure I follow. What would be considered a more 'contemporary' font and what does that have to do with seeing a moon? Did you see a moon too? Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/42386-logo-for-pc-repair-company/#findComment-205637 Share on other sites
roopurt18
Once you realize it's a mouse, it's obviously not a moon; the endpoints of the opening are too close together. But giving it just a quick, casual glance, I saw a moon. It was actually the endpoints being too close together that caused me to pay greater attention to it. roopurt18
Maybe adding a light shade of color to the mouse that dithers at the opening would help. Something to try... You could also just try rotating the mouse so that it's oriented how people are used to seeing them. I'm used to the buttons facing up; no one draws a moon with the opening facing down so I think it'd help avoid confusion. redbullmarky
i saw a moon too, but Chris' spin on things definitely keeps the same overall effect but without that initial perception. However - I don't mean to sound overly harsh or critical here, as I'm pretty terrible when it comes to design and logos - but it seems more appropriate to a Solicitors or a funeral directors than an IT company, and I thing it's definitely the font that's doing it. Don't get me wrong - it's a fantastic logo - but not for what you're trying to achieve. jcombs_31
Thanks guys, what do you think about this font? Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/42386-logo-for-pc-repair-company/#findComment-207000 Share on other sites
Daniel0
Thanks guys, what do you think about this font? <image here> I like that one better, it also helped to realize that it is a mouse when you turned it around. redbullmarky
agreed. much better font. i can't decide though whether i like the "personal" word blending in with the mouse, like on Chris' mock (which makes the mouse more involved with the logo as opposed to just being on the side), or whether it's tidier your way. hmm. Maybe one to try and see. Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/42386-logo-for-pc-repair-company/#findComment-207274 Share on other sites
jcombs_31
I agree, it should all blend in better but I don't like the typography the other way. I'll play around with some other options and post again when I come up with something. Pythagoras
For some reason I think of it as a lawyer logo design rather than PC repair. Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/42386-logo-for-pc-repair-company/#findComment-210205 Share on other sites
AndyB
I think that the font shown in your current version - a very dignified 'classic' font - conveys the wrong message. I'd expect a sans-seif font to work better, possibly even the same font as Microsoft use as their own logo ... which might even reinforce the visitor's notion that it's a personal computer site (your's, not Microsoft's) Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/42386-logo-for-pc-repair-company/#findComment-210215 Share on other sites
jcombs_31
ok, check out this one. Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/42386-logo-for-pc-repair-company/#findComment-210588 Share on other sites
s0c0
I like it. You can easily tell it's a mouse now (which is not a bad logo idea to begin with). In your first logo design I thought it was like a hammer sickle or something. No one wants to get pc support from the commies lol. I also think the font style is appealing. jcombs_31
not sure if I should add more detail into the mouse or keep it simple... Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/42386-logo-for-pc-repair-company/#findComment-210660 Share on other sites
roopurt18
I'd keep it simple. It doesn't look much like a mouse does these days, but I think if you throw in too much detail it'll attract attention away from the pertinent areas of the site. redbullmarky
the colours definitely a change for the better. try shrinking the mouse image to about 75% of what it is right now, as it just strikes me as a touch too big. jcombs_31
ok, new logos to choose from. Which do you like... http://multimedia-technologies.com/misc/falogo.png I think it is between 2 and 3 Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/42386-logo-for-pc-repair-company/#findComment-232064 Share on other sites
redbullmarky
3 or 4, but my preference being 3. the F in the monitor on 2 just looks too much like the obvious thing to do - and whilst it looks good, the others aren't trying anything clever - straightforward and to the point. Dreous
I'd say #3 hands down.. I like the mouse look alot with the underlining with the cord. Very creative.
