Hi, I have the 'onbeforeunload' event set on the 'body' tag to set a JS function to trigger ONLY if a conditionis set - two var's equaling one another. Note: that all works just fine - no issues with the default setup. However, This function should NOT trigger the event if the 'submit' button is click (therefore suppressing the 'process()' function set on 'body' tag. Reason: that means staff completed the transaction and data actually saved to the database. The 'cancel.html' required to inform them their action canceled the process and no record created as a result. ---- Here's what i have thus far - appreciate some insight to get this final piece to work ('process' function should NOT fire when 'submit' button click which triggers 'checkfire' function). That's my problem - not able to pass local var out of 'checkfire' function to update global var which then read by 'process' function. (Brain dead!) ===== Here's the code for review: * This is the snippet that sets the default var values and the 'checkfire' function that will be called from the 'submit' button <script type="text/javascript"> var viewer = "fire"; var jscheck = viewer; // if function called, then update var jscheck function checkFire() { jscheck = "nofire"; alert("jscheck value is now: " + jscheck); return jscheck; } </script> * Here's the part that fires the 'cancel.html' page if staff member clicks away from the page without submitting the form data. This is where we need to display the cancelation policy advising they did not complete the process by submitting info. <script type="text/javascript"> // Process to advise member by leaving page without clicking "Submit Record" button, canceled the entire process / update if (viewer == jscheck) { function process() { window.open('http://www.domain/canceled.html', '_blank'); self.blur(); } } </script> and finally, the Body tag showing 'process()' function and the 'submit' button showing onclick event calling 'checkfire()' func. <body onbeforeunload="process()"> <input name="sumbit" value="Submit Record" onclick="checkFire();" /> Again, If the 'submit' button is clicked, then the 'process()' should NOT trigger at that point. ISSUE: this is what's happening - process() function firing even when the form submitted (it should ONLY fire if staff leaves the page prior to submitting the form which is requirement to close out work order). ---- I'm not sure how to dynamically 'remove' the onbeforeunload event off the 'body' tag or pass the 'checkfire()' value of 'jscheck' out of that function to global jscheck var to cause the conditional logic in 'process()' to fail - resulting in no action. Any help with this appreciated - thx!

Say there is a complex opt in process where people start to enter their data but certain questions stop them where they close out of the page. They already entered their data and I feel there is a way to grab it and post it to mysql even though they do not click submit. How would this be done? A super simple example (proof of concept) or a link to a tutorial would be very useful.

Good Day PHP world, I am encountering a problem in php code meant to allow the user to update their profile picture. I am using jquery.min and jquery.js. The code below runs with no errors reported. The file has been successfully uploaded to upload path using this form. upload.php <form id="imageform" method="post" enctype="multipart/form-data" action='ajaximage.php'> <input type="file" name="photoimg" id="photoimg" class="stylesmall"/> </form> ajaximage.php $path = "uploads/"; $valid_formats = array("jpg", "png", "gif", "bmp","jpeg"); if(isset($_POST) and $_SERVER['REQUEST_METHOD'] == "POST") { $name = $_FILES['photoimg']['name']; $size = $_FILES['photoimg']['size']; if(strlen($name)) { list($txt, $ext) = explode(".", $name); if(in_array($ext,$valid_formats)) { if($size<(1024*1024)) // Image size max 1 MB { $actual_image_name = $name.".".$ext; $tmp = $_FILES['photoimg']['tmp_name']; if(move_uploaded_file($tmp, $path.$actual_image_name)) { $query = "UPDATE users SET profile_image='$actual_image_name' WHERE student_id='{$_SESSION['user_id']}'"; $result = mysqli_query($link_id, $query); echo "<img src='uploads/".$actual_image_name."' class='preview'>"; } The problem is the image being uploaded does not display on the Student_home.php <div id="about-img"> <img class="profile-photo" align="middle" src='uploads/".$actual_image_name."' /> </div> But the image uploaded will display when i write directly its filename example <div id="about-img"> <img class="profile-photo" align="middle" src="uploads/107.jpg" /> </div> My problem is i wanted to display the uploaded picture of the specific student on Student_Home.php

I would appreciate if someone could figure this out or tell me the easiest way to do this. I need a count up counter that appears in a textbox so I can record the time a user is on a page. On a side note, I do have their Start and finish time timestamp recorded in myphpadmin database but I am looking for the easiest (or best) way to do this. Any advice or scripts would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advanced. I did find this counter that works but the numbers appear 0.0.1 if counting up. I don't want to confuse the user. I really want to display to the user how long they was on a certain page. <script> $(document).ready(function() { var time = '00:00:00', parts = time.split(':'), hours = +parts[0], minutes = +parts[1], seconds = +parts[02], input = $('#timeInput'); var timer = setInterval(function(){ seconds++; if(seconds == 60) { seconds = 00; minutes++; if(minutes == 60) { minutes = 00; hours++; } } var newTime = hours + ":" + minutes + ":" + seconds; $('#timeInput').val(newTime); }, 1000); }); </script> <input type="text" name="time" id="timeInput"/>

It should work like this[DEMO in attached filed] listbox_with_keybord_search.htm

So currently I have 2 files that pretty much does the same thing but connects to 2 different tables. I sort of want to merge it together to save file space and make everything more efficient: caseprice.php <?php $q = intval($_GET['q']); $con = mysqli_connect('localhost','root','','test'); if (!$con) { die('Could not connect: ' . mysqli_error($con)); } mysqli_select_db($con,"compcase"); $sql="SELECT * FROM compcase WHERE id = '".$q."'"; $result = mysqli_query($con,$sql); while($row = mysqli_fetch_array($result)) { echo "<tr>"; echo "<td>" . $row['case_price'] . "</td>"; echo "</tr>"; } echo "</table>"; mysqli_close($con); ?> caselightprice.php <?php $q = intval($_GET['q']); $con = mysqli_connect('localhost','root','','test'); if (!$con) { die('Could not connect: ' . mysqli_error($con)); } mysqli_select_db($con,"complight"); $sql="SELECT * FROM complight WHERE id = '".$q."'"; $result = mysqli_query($con,$sql); while($row = mysqli_fetch_array($result)) { echo "<tr>"; echo "<td>" . $row['caselight_price'] . "</td>"; echo "</tr>"; } echo "</table>"; mysqli_close($con); ?> also how can I use all this to display a sub total on my page when the radio buttons are pressed? I have it so the price shows I just cant seem to add them both up: index.php <script> //CASE PRICE// function casePrice(str) { if (str=="") { document.getElementById("txtHint").innerHTML=""; return; } if (window.XMLHttpRequest) { // code for IE7+, Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Safari xmlhttp=new XMLHttpRequest(); } else { // code for IE6, IE5 xmlhttp=new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP"); } xmlhttp.onreadystatechange=function() { if (xmlhttp.readyState==4 && xmlhttp.status==200) { document.getElementById("txtHint").innerHTML=xmlhttp.responseText; } } xmlhttp.open("GET","caseprice.php?q="+str,true); xmlhttp.send(); } //CASE PRICE// //CASE LIGHT PRICE// function caselightPrice(str) { if (str=="") { document.getElementById("txtHint").innerHTML=""; return; } if (window.XMLHttpRequest) { // code for IE7+, Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Safari xmlhttp=new XMLHttpRequest(); } else { // code for IE6, IE5 xmlhttp=new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP"); } xmlhttp.onreadystatechange=function() { if (xmlhttp.readyState==4 && xmlhttp.status==200) { document.getElementById("txtHint").innerHTML=xmlhttp.responseText; } } xmlhttp.open("GET","caselightprice.php?q="+str,true); xmlhttp.send(); } //CASE LIGHT PRICE// </script> <Input type = 'Radio' Name ='compcase' onchange="casePrice(this.value)" value= '1' />NZXT Phantom Enthusiast USB3.0 Full Tower Case - White <br /> <Input type = 'Radio' Name ='compcase' onchange="casePrice(this.value)" value= '2' />Corsair Obsidian 750D Large Tower Case Black <br /> <Input type = 'Radio' Name ='compcase' onchange="casePrice(this.value)" value= '3' />Cooler Master CM Storm Trooper Black Full Tower Gaming Case <br /><br /> <Input type = 'Radio' Name ='caselight' onchange="caselightPrice(this.value)" value= '1' />Red<br /> <Input type = 'Radio' Name ='caselight' onchange="caselightPrice(this.value)" value= '2' />Green <br /><br /> <div id="txtHint"><b>Processor listed here</b></div> <div id="txtTest"><b>Processor listed here</b></div> as you can see, the price is displaying separately. Can I somehow calculate it as a subtotal instead of separate totals? Thanks for any help.

For eg. I would prefer to have a link like this in the head section. <head> <script src="js/code.js"></script> </head> as oppose to like this. <head> <script> var _debug = false; var _placeholderSupport = function() { var t = document.createElement("input"); t.type = "text"; return (typeof t.placeholder !== "undefined"); }(); window.onload = function() { var arrInputs = document.getElementsByTagName("input"); var arrTextareas = document.getElementsByTagName("textarea"); var combinedArray = []; for (var i = 0; i < arrInputs.length; i++) combinedArray.push(arrInputs[i]); for (var i = 0; i < arrTextareas.length; i++) combinedArray.push(arrTextareas[i]); for (var i = 0; i < combinedArray.length; i++) { var curInput = combinedArray[i]; if (!curInput.type || curInput.type == "" || curInput.type == "text" || curInput.type == "textarea") HandlePlaceholder(curInput); else if (curInput.type == "password") ReplaceWithText(curInput); } if (!_placeholderSupport) { for (var i = 0; i < document.forms.length; i++) { var oForm = document.forms[i]; if (oForm.attachEvent) { oForm.attachEvent("onsubmit", function() { PlaceholderFormSubmit(oForm); }); } else if (oForm.addEventListener) oForm.addEventListener("submit", function() { PlaceholderFormSubmit(oForm); }, false); } } }; function PlaceholderFormSubmit(oForm) { for (var i = 0; i < oForm.elements.length; i++) { var curElement = oForm.elements[i]; HandlePlaceholderItemSubmit(curElement); } } function HandlePlaceholderItemSubmit(element) { if (element.name) { var curPlaceholder = element.getAttribute("placeholder"); if (curPlaceholder && curPlaceholder.length > 0 && element.value === curPlaceholder) { element.value = ""; window.setTimeout(function() { element.value = curPlaceholder; }, 100); } } } function ReplaceWithText(oPasswordTextbox) { if (_placeholderSupport) return; var oTextbox = document.createElement("input"); oTextbox.type = "text"; oTextbox.id = oPasswordTextbox.id; oTextbox.name = oPasswordTextbox.name; //oTextbox.style = oPasswordTextbox.style; oTextbox.className = oPasswordTextbox.className; for (var i = 0; i < oPasswordTextbox.attributes.length; i++) { var curName = oPasswordTextbox.attributes.item(i).nodeName; var curValue = oPasswordTextbox.attributes.item(i).nodeValue; if (curName !== "type" && curName !== "name") { oTextbox.setAttribute(curName, curValue); } } oTextbox.originalTextbox = oPasswordTextbox; oPasswordTextbox.parentNode.replaceChild(oTextbox, oPasswordTextbox); HandlePlaceholder(oTextbox); if (!_placeholderSupport) { oPasswordTextbox.onblur = function() { if (this.dummyTextbox && this.value.length === 0) { this.parentNode.replaceChild(this.dummyTextbox, this); } }; } } function HandlePlaceholder(oTextbox) { if (!_placeholderSupport) { var curPlaceholder = oTextbox.getAttribute("placeholder"); if (curPlaceholder && curPlaceholder.length > 0) { Debug("Placeholder found for input box '" + oTextbox.name + "': " + curPlaceholder); oTextbox.value = curPlaceholder; oTextbox.setAttribute("old_color", oTextbox.style.color); oTextbox.style.color = "#c0c0c0"; oTextbox.onfocus = function() { var _this = this; if (this.originalTextbox) { _this = this.originalTextbox; _this.dummyTextbox = this; this.parentNode.replaceChild(this.originalTextbox, this); _this.focus(); } Debug("input box '" + _this.name + "' focus"); _this.style.color = _this.getAttribute("old_color"); if (_this.value === curPlaceholder) _this.value = ""; }; oTextbox.onblur = function() { var _this = this; Debug("input box '" + _this.name + "' blur"); if (_this.value === "") { _this.style.color = "#c0c0c0"; _this.value = curPlaceholder; } }; } else { Debug("input box '" + oTextbox.name + "' does not have placeholder attribute"); } } else { Debug("browser has native support for placeholder"); } } function Debug(msg) { if (typeof _debug !== "undefined" && _debug) { var oConsole = document.getElementById("Console"); if (!oConsole) { oConsole = document.createElement("div"); oConsole.id = "Console"; document.body.appendChild(oConsole); } oConsole.innerHTML += msg + "<br />"; } } </script> </head> How can I make that happen? I have a multi-step form that offers different options of membership to users with the e-mail domain 'vip.co.uk' I finally have it working but have hit a wall with pulling the variables together to form an URL that can be submitted to the payment gateway in the final step. The variables I need to pass are username, password, email, subscription id (a value attached to a radio button in step 2 - not yet built it). I have a JS fiddle at http://jsfiddle.net/zsasvoo4/15/. The final form will be in PHP and I'd prefer to use that language.

so I have a custom store built off of PHP, JS and CSS and it sells virtual coins for a game and the coins are sent automatically by the script however I want to start offering discounts to customers via discounts codes and I currently came across this script that I have put together: Javascript <!-- var discnt = 0; // no default percent discount var coupons = new Array ( // place to put coupon codes "MavrkHD", "TheFUTBucks", "TOTW", "Mega", "LL" ); var coupdc = new Array ( // place to put discounts for coupon vals "10", "15", "7", "10", "20" ); var coupval = "(blanket)"; // what user entered as coupon code function ChkCoup () { // check user coupon entry var i; discnt = 0; // assume the worst for (i=0; i<coupons.length; i++) { if (coupval == coupons[i]) { discnt = coupdc[i]; // remember the discount amt alert ("This is a valid promo code! \n\n" + discnt + "%" + " discount now in effect."); return; } } alert ("'" + coupval + "' is not a valid promo code!"); } function Sterling (val) { // force to valid dollar amount var str,pos,rnd=0; if (val < .995) rnd = 1; // for old Netscape browsers str = escape (val*1.0 + 0.005001 + rnd); // float, round, escape pos = str.indexOf ("."); if (pos > 0) str = str.substring (rnd, pos + 3); return str; } function ReadForm (obj1) { // apply the discount var amt,des; amt = obj1.amount.value*1.0; // base amount des = obj1.basedes.value; // base description if (discnt > 0) { // only if discount is active amt = Sterling (amt - (amt * discnt/100.0)); des = des + " - " + discnt + "% off - COUP = " + coupval; } obj1.baseamt.value = Sterling (amt); obj1.item_name.value = des; } //--> </script> PayPal Form Details <form action="https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr" method="post" onsubmit="this.target = 'paypal'; return ReadForm (this);"> <input type="hidden" name="cmd" value="_xclick" /> <input type="hidden" name="add" value="1" /> <input type="hidden" name="business" value="<?=$functions->getPayPal();?>" /> <input type="hidden" name="item_name" value="Online Coin Currency" /> <input type="hidden" name="amount" id="amount" value="0.00" /> <input type="hidden" name="currency_code" value="GBP" /> <input type="hidden" name="baseamt" id="amount" value="0.00" /> <input type="hidden" name="basedes" value="Online Coin Currency (FUT)" /> <input type="hidden" name="custom" id="custom" value=""> <input type="hidden" name="return" value="RETURN LINK HERE";?> <input type="hidden" name="notify_url" value="<?=HOST.'files/payments/paypal.php';?>"> <input type="hidden" name="cancel_return" value="<?=HOST.'cancelled';?>"> Enter Coupon code <input type = "text" size = "10" name = "coupcode"; /> <input type="button" value="Apply code" onclick="coupval =this.form.coupcode.value; ChkCoup();" /><br/><br/> <input type="image" id="xx" src="https://www.paypalobjects.com/WEBSCR-640-20110306-1/en_US/i/btn/btn_buynowCC_LG.gif" border="0" name="submit" onclick="CalculateOrder(this.form)" alt="PayPal - The safer, easier way to pay online!"> <img alt="" border="0" src="https://www.paypalobjects.com/WEBSCR-640-20110306-1/en_US/i/scr/pixel.gif" width="1" height="1"> </form> So, it all works like sending information to PayPal I have one issue about PayPal displaying the calculated prices. For example: if I take out the id of amount and baseamt and just leave value and put a value of 12.99 and then go on my store and go through the process of buying the virtual coins and then get to the discount code area and proceed to paypal I will get a discount price to pay at paypal but when I use the id="amount" which is a variable for depending on how many coins the customer to buy it'll send that price to paypal, it doesn't discount the price and I have been trying endlessly to fix this! help? Thanks.

I hope that this is a simple fix that I can't for the life of me see. I have a page which selects data from a database for a selected person within a selected month which is used to provide an employee with their current or historic earnings. Up until the end of April you could hit the print button and it would print out the page as per what is on the screen (text only) in the correct layout minus the colours and boxes etc, this sufficed perfectly well. Then in May for no apparent reason the information that was collected from the database still displayed but now also has the url printed out, this is also the case when you use the browser print function. Please see the attached image of both scenarios. Any thoughts or help to solve this problem would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Ian.

Can someone please tell me where I'm going wrong for the code flow in this script: <script> function submitchat{ if (form1.uname.value=='' || form1.msg.value==''){ alert("fill out whole form"); return; } var uname=form1.uname.value; var msg=form1.msg.value; var xmlhttp= new XMLHttpRequest(); xmlhttp.onreadystatechange = function(){ if (xmlhttp.readyState==4 && xmlhttp.status=200){ document.getElementById('chatlogs').innerHTML=xmlhttp.responseText; alert("message sent"); } xmlhttp.open('GET', '?page=3.2&uname='+uname+'&msg='+msg, true); xmlhttp.send(); } </script> <form name="form1"> enter your chat name<input type="text" name="uname"> message: <textarea name="msg"></textarea> <br> <div id="chatlogs">Loading Chat Logs...</div> <a href="#" onclick="">send</a> </form> <?php $uname = $_REQUEST['uname']; $msg = $_REQUEST['msg']; if ($msg!='' && $uname!=''){ $chat=" INSERT INTO chat ( `uname` , `msg` ) VALUES ( '$uname', '$msg' )"; $result = mysql_query($chat, $con) or die (sql_death($chat)); }

I have been able to login the user and in use the HEADER function to redirect the user to their user_page but the direction is done in the I-frame and not the parent window. Now my problem is how do i close the iframe and still redirect the user to the next page. I tried some javascript but all to no avail . THE LOGIN AND I-FRAME PAGE SCRIPT <?php if(empty($errors)=== true){ $login=login($username, $password); if($login === false){ $errors[]='INVALID LOGIN DETAILS.... PLEASE CHECK YOUR DETAILS AND TRY AGAIN.'; } else{ $_SESSION["user_id"]=$login; ?> <script> parent.window.close();</script> <?php header("location:user_page.php"); } } if(empty($errors)=== false){ $_SESSION["errors"]=$errors[0]; } } ?> <!DOCTYPE html> <html lang="en"> <head> <meta charset="utf-8"> <title>Login</title> <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1.0, maximum-scale=1.0, user-scalable=no"> <meta name="apple-mobile-web-app-capable" content="yes"> <link href="css/signin.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css"> </head> <body> <div class="account-container"> <div class="content clearfix"> <form action="#" method="post"> <h1>Member Login</h1> <div class="login-fields"> <p>Please provide your details</p> <div class="field"> <label for="username">Username</label> <input type="text" id="username" name="username" value="" placeholder="Username" class="login username-field" /> </div> <!-- /field --> <div class="field"> <label for="password">Password:</label> <input type="password" id="password" name="password" value="" placeholder="Password" class="login password-field"/> </div> <!-- /password --> </div> <!-- /login-fields --> <input class="login-fields_submit" type="submit" name="login" value="Log In"> </form> <?php if(isset($_SESSION["errors"])){?> <h1 style="background:darkred;margin-bottom:-27px;font-size:9px !important;"> <?php echo $_SESSION["errors"]; unset($_SESSION["errors"]);?></h1><?php }?> </div> <!-- /content --> </div> <!-- /account-container --> </body> </html>

Hello to everyone. I have a php website, in which i would like to integrade a virtual keyboard in any text boxes I have on it, including in google custom search. I found in a website a virtual keyboard which is free for integrade in javascript code. But when I am trying to use it, It appears the text box and the keyboard together. I would like to know if there is any way to catch and use only the virtual keyboard in the existing text boxes in my page, I would like to take only the keyboard from the set of these both text box and keyboard and use it in my site.
