  1. Hello guys. Im not familiar with PHP but I was asked to convert our Homepage which uses a Database to store tickets from 5.x to 7.3.9 . Now I get this error: I'd appreaciate any help from you guys, tia. :)
  2. HI All, I am writing a prepared statement to update some user information. Included in this table are the username and password fields. In this particular form, i dont want the user to have access to this information and have built a form that only shows what i want them to be able to change. The bit that i am not sure about is the prepared statement that i am writing. I am getting a boolean error suggesting that my prepare failed and i think this may be because i have not named every field in the table. To give an idea of the table fields i have pulled this from php my_admin (this is not the sql i am running) UPDATE `ssm_user` SET `user_id`=[value-1],`user_email`=[value-2],`user_password`=[value-3], `user_firstname`=[value-4],`user_lastname`=[value-5],`user_accountlevel`=[value-6], `user_mobile`=[value-7],`user_role`=[value-8],`user_lastlogondate`=[value-9] WHERE 1 my prepared statement is $stmt = $conn->prepare(" UPDATE ssm_user SET user_email=?, user_firstname=?, user_lastname=?, user_accountlevel=?, user_mobile=?, WHERE user_id = ? "); $stmt->bind_param('sssssi', $email, $fname, $lname, $accountlevel, $mobile, $uid); $stmt->execute(); return $stmt->affected_rows; Do i have to declare every field in the table or is there something that i am missing here.
  3. I've finally got the time to learn web sockets and have choosen to use: http://socketo.me/docs/push to do so. It all works perfectly fine without SSL. The moment it's enabled the client javascript will not connect and will output "WebSocket opening handshake timed out". I've tried the server with and without the TLS options. client.html, post.php, server.php <script type="text/javascript" src="autobahn.js"></script> <script> var conn = new ab.Session('wss://domain.com:8443', function() { console.log('Connected'); conn.subscribe('kittensCategory', function(topic, data) { // This is where you would add the new article to the DOM (beyond the scope of this tutorial) console.log('New article published to category "' + topic + '" : ' + data.title); }); }, function() { console.warn('WebSocket connection closed'); }, {'skipSubprotocolCheck': true} ); </script> <?php require dirname(__DIR__) . '/socket/vendor/autoload.php'; // post.php ??? // This all was here before ;) $entryData = array( 'category' => 'kittensCategory' , 'title' => 'My Impressive Title' , 'article' => 'Just me the best, nothing new!' , 'when' => time() ); // This is our new stuff $context = new ZMQContext(); $socket = $context->getSocket(ZMQ::SOCKET_PUSH, 'my pusher'); $socket->connect("tcp://localhost:5555"); $socket->send(json_encode($entryData)); echo 'All Sent!'; <?php require dirname(__DIR__) .   4. Hello everyone, I am a total newbie in PHP and so do here. I am trying to build a table consisting foreign key and primary key and it is showing error like "Parse error: syntax error, unexpected 'cities' (T_STRING) in line number 29". I have marked up my lines according to sublime text 3 editor. I am trying to create a database. 1 <?php 2 $servername = "localhost"; 3 $username = "username"; 4 $password = "password"; 5 $dbname = "newDB"; 7 // Create connection 8 $conn = new mysqli($servername, $username, $password, $dbname); 10 // Check connection 11 if ($conn->connect_error) { 12 die("Connection failed: " . $conn->connect_error);} 14 $firstname = $conn->real_escape_string($_REQUEST['firstname']); 15 $lastname = $conn->real_escape_string($_REQUEST['lastname']); 16 $address = $conn->real_escape_string($_REQUEST['address']); 17 $city = $conn->real_escape_string($_REQUEST['city']); 18 $country = $conn->real_escape_string($_REQUEST['country']); 19 $phone_number = $conn->real_escape_string($_REQUEST['phone_number']); 20 $email = $conn->real_escape_string($_REQUEST['email']); 22 // Attempt insert query execution 23 $sql1 = "INSERT INTO cities VALUES ('$city')"; 25 $sql2 = "INSERT INTO countries VALUES ('$country')"; 27 $sql3 = "INSERT INTO Contacts (firstname, lastname, address, city, country, phone, email) VALUES ('$firstname', '$lastname', '$address', $city, $country, '$phone_number','$email')"; 29 SELECT * FROM cities; SELECT * FROM countries; SELECT * FROM Contacts; if($conn->query($sql1) === true){ echo "City added successfully."; } else{ echo "ERROR: Could not able to execute " . $conn->error; } if($conn->query($sql2) === true){ echo "Çountry added successfully."; } else{ echo "ERROR: Could not able to execute " . $conn->error; } if($conn->query($sql3) === true){ echo "Çontact added successfully."; } else{ echo "ERROR: Could not able to execute " . $conn->error; } // Close connection $conn->close(); ?>

  7. Since I installed apache2, php, and phpmyadmin on my linux machine when I click on a .php file it downloads instead of opening in a web browser. It didn't do this prior to the install, so I suspect it's a config error. Can someone help me on this? Thanks in advance, Larry
  8. Hi, I'm working with an example set of code to create a Stripe (Token) and that script works Great! Example code found at https://jsfiddle.net/ywain/5yz4z2yn/ However, I need to capture the 'token' which is found at line 38 within the Javascript code. My issue: how can I pass that var (result.token.id) to an external PHP file? If you want to see the simulation - just fill out the form (use 4242 4242 4242 4242 for the test card & current of future 'two-digit' year) other values are random. In the HTML code (simulated form) you'll see that the 'token' class display the token when (result.token) JS condition is met / TRUE <div class="success"> Success! Your Stripe token is <span class="token"></span> </div> I'll suppress the token from showing the var once I am able to grab the value & pass into the, external, PHP (Stripe api's for processing). Again, here's the code snippet in question from the 'Javascript file found at https://jsfiddle.net/ywain/5yz4z2yn/ if (result.token) { // Use the token to create a charge or a customer // https://stripe.com/docs/charges successElement.querySelector('.token').textContent = result.token.id; successElement.classList.add('visible'); Again, I need to (somehow) grab 'result.token.id' and (securely) pass that value to an external PHP file. Note: I do not want to use cookies b/c that not a stable solution for all browsers nor safe. Appreciate any suggestions - thx!
  9. hello everyone, I have a php form, everything works, I do not carry any header() at the end of the form because I have to stay on the same page and because I feel it wipes out the message you sent the form successfully, but for this though if reloading the page shows me the popup asking me to resend the form. how can i solve? I found a function in js with replacestate but I saw that it doesn't work with mobile Safari. if ( window.history.replaceState ) { window.history.replaceState( null, null, window.location.href ); }

  11. I'm going crazy. I have two arrays. The first has working hours and the array is like this: ```array(7) { [0]=> array(4) { ["morning_from"]=> string(6) "closed" ["morning_to"]=> string(6) "closed" ["afternoon_from"]=> string(5) "13:00" ["afternoon_to"]=> string(5) "19:00" }``` The second one is the busy times, the array is like this: ```array(2) { [0]=> { ["title"]=> string(13) "Test" ["start_date"]=> string(19) "2019-11-25 13:00:00" ["end_date"]=> string(19) "2019-11-25 14:00:00" } }``` Now I do a cycle of 15 times because I need to make the list for the next 15 days from today. Then I compare the working hours in the morning with the appointments, if the time is occupied by an appointment I add a class to the div. The HTML that comes out should look like this: ``` <ul> <li> <div> <p>Sun</p><p>24 Nov</p> </div> <div class="uk-book-a-visit-closed">Closed</div> </li> <li> <div> <p>Mon</p> <p>25 Nov</p> </div> <div> <a class="uk-button-book-a-visit-hour uk-button-book-a-visit-hour-busy" id="a-book-a-visit" data-book-day="2019-11-25" data-book-hour="13:00">13:00</a> <a class="uk-button-book-a-visit-hour uk-button-book-a-visit-hour-busy" id="a-book-a-visit" data-book-day="2019-11-25" data-book-hour="13:30">13:30</a> <a class="uk-button-book-a-visit-hour uk-button-book-a-visit-hour-busy" id="a-book-a-visit" data-book-day="2019-11-25" data-book-hour="14:00">14:00</a> <a class="uk-button-book-a-visit-hour" id="a-book-a-visit" data-book-day="2019-11-25" data-book-hour="14:30">14:30</a> <a class="uk-button-book-a-visit-hour" id="a-book-a-visit" data-book-day="2019-11-25" data-book-hour="15:00">15:00</a> </div> </li> </ul> ``` Unfortunately it does not work as I would like, it does not mark correctly if the date is occupied. I'll post a piece of code: ```for ($book_i=0; $book_i <= 15; $book_i++) { if($book_i == 0){ $book_today_day = date('Y-m-d', strtotime($book_today)); }else{ $book_today_day = date('Y-m-d', strtotime($book_today .   12. Hi all, I'm looking for some pointers in regards to my form.. How would I firstly trim the $_POST value of the variables that come through via the form (I'm only using one for now)..I know I'm making a right dogs dinner of it. In my head I'm thinking, trim all the posts first before i even assign a variable to it ( i dont know if thats possible), then use an array for when more values start coming through via the form. You know as i make a contact form that requires more data from the user.. <?php require_once '../connection/dbconfig.php'; include_once('../connection/connectionz.php'); //get the values //Get the request method from the $_SERVER $requestType = $_SERVER['REQUEST_METHOD']; //this is what type //echo $requestType ; if($requestType == 'POST') { //now trim all $_POSTS $search_products = trim($_POST['search_products']); // if(empty($search_products)){ echo '<h4>You must type a word to search!</h4>'; }else{ $make = '<h4>No match found!</h4>'; $new_search_products = "%" . $search_products . "%"; $sql = "SELECT * FROM product WHERE name LIKE ?"; //prepared statement $stmt = mysqli_stmt_init($conDB); //prepare prepared statements if(!mysqli_stmt_prepare($stmt,$sql)) { echo "SQL Statement failed"; }else{ //bind parameters to the placeholder mysqli_stmt_bind_param($stmt, "s", $new_search_products ); mysqli_stmt_execute($stmt); $result = mysqli_stmt_get_result($stmt); echo'<h2> Search Result</h2>'; echo 'You searched for <strong><em>'. $search_products.'</em></strong>'; while($row = mysqli_fetch_assoc($result)){ echo '<h4> (ID : '.$row['pid']; echo ') Book Title : '.$row['name']; echo '</h4>'; } } } } ;?> If any one can shed some light on this, or some pointers..that would be very nice... Thanks Darren

  16. This is my code to connect java socket:- ``` $socket = socket_create(AF_INET, SOCK_STREAM, SOL_TCP); socket_connect($socket, '127.0.0.1', 12345); while(true) { // read a line from the socket $line = socket_read($socket, 1024, PHP_NORMAL_READ); var_dump($line); $someArray = json_decode($line, true); $otp = $someArray["otp"]; if($someArray["msg"] == "otp_generation") { $myObj = new \stdClass(); $myObj->msg = "OTP RECEIVED NEED TO CONNECT"; $send = json_encode($myObj); socket_send($socket, $send, strlen($send), 0); } exit; } ``` When connection is established successfully server send one OTP to client and received successfully in client. Then i send data to server OTP RECEIVED acknowledgement, it also received in server. After OTP RECEIVED acknowledgement server send welcome msg to client. I cant get the welcome message. if i remove the (exit) soket_write is not working i can't send data to server. if i put exit data send to server successfully and socket is closed. What can i do for this type of issue. I don't know what mistake i done.?

  18. Hello, I hope it's ok to ask this question here. I have a registration script, but I'm not sure how to handle it efficiently and I have some questions about it. This is used in the page 'signup.php'. The class is called 'User'. I haven't noticed any errors or bugs. It would be very useful for me to be aware of my mistakes. public function regUser($uname,$upass,$upassverify) { $new_password = password_hash($upass, PASSWORD_DEFAULT); if(!password_verify($upassverify, $new_password)) { // passwords are not the same (I thought it would be better to do this after hashing, but maybe it doesn't matter or it's worse. I'm not sure about it) $info = 'pass_err'; } $stmt1 = $this->db->prepare("SELECT * FROM users WHERE username=:uname"); $stmt1->execute(array(':uname'=>$uname)); if($stmt1->rowCount() > 0) { // this username has already been used $info = 'user_err'; } if (!$info) { $stmt2 = $this->db->prepare("INSERT INTO users(username,password) VALUES(:uname, :upass)"); $stmt2->bindparam(":uname", $uname); $stmt2->bindparam(":upass", $new_password); $stmt2->execute(); // succesfully made an account $info = "success"; } header("Location:/signup.php?status=".$info); exit(); } Am I using the prepared statements as how I should be using them? Is this a safe way of handling my data or do you see vulnerabilities? I'm using PRG to prevent resubmission but I want to show a 'everything is fine' or 'oh no, something went wrong' to the one who is signinup. If I now go to signup.php?status=success, i see 'eveything is fine', without actually signing up, is there a better way to do this or can I somehow prevent everyone being able to see this? As you might have noticed in my last post, my English is not very good, sorry about that. Thanks, Fabian
  19. I have the following array: $available_seasons = array ( 0 => array ( 'season_id' => 226, 'season_name' => '2022 - Season 1', 'season_price' => '25.99', 'season_start_date' => 'Jan. 1, 2022', 'season_end_date' => 'Mar. 31, 2022', 'prize' => 100, ), 1 => array ( 'season_id' => 227, 'season_name' => '2022 - Season 2', 'season_price' => '28.99', 'season_start_date' => 'Apr. 1, 2022', 'season_end_date' => 'Jun. 30, 2022', 'prize' => 100, ), 2 => array ( 'season_id' => 238, 'season_name' => '2022 - Season 3', 'season_price' => '40.99', 'season_start_date' => 'Jul. 1, 2022', 'season_end_date' => 'Sep. 30, 2022', 'prize' => 230, ), 3 => array ( 'season_id' => 239, 'season_name' => '2022 - Season 4', 'season_price' => '30.65', 'season_start_date' => 'Oct. 1, 2022', 'season_end_date' => 'Dec. 31, 2022', 'prize' => 300, ), ) I'm using the following loop to create the form: echo "<form name='seasonForm' method=\"post\" action='execute.php'>"; foreach ( $available_seasons as $k => $season ) { echo "<input name='choice' class='uk-checkbox' type='checkbox' value='{$season[ 'season_price' ]}' onchange='checkTotal()'/>"; } echo "<button type='submit'>Continue</button>"; I have the following JS to calculate the total price: function checkTotal() { document.seasonForm.total.value = \'\'; var sum = 0; for (i=0;i<document.seasonForm.choice.length;i++) { if (document.seasonForm.choice[i].checked) { sum = sum + (document.seasonForm.choice[i].value *1); } } document.seasonForm.total.value = "Total: $" + sum; } I am showing the total price to my users, before they click on submit. As it is, I am only able to able to get the value of one checkbox, which is season_price in my execute.php. What I need is to pass the all season_id and season_price values of the selected checkboxes to execute.php. I am not sure how to do this. Thank you for your help in advance.
  20. In my DB schema, there are 4 tables and its relationship as shown in the below attached image. My question is how many schools are there according to the data in the school table and how many of those schools belong to provinces, districts and zones, is it possible in one mysql query? Currently I am using 4 separate queries for this and the relevant code is as follows. $sql = "SELECT count(school_id) as schtot FROM sn_school"; $stmt = $pdo->query($sql); $schtot = $stmt->fetchColumn(); $schtot = str_pad($schtot , 3, 0, STR_PAD_LEFT); $sql = "SELECT count(zone_id) as zonetot FROM sn_school GROUP BY zone_id"; $stmt = $pdo->query($sql); $zonetot = $stmt->rowCount(); $zonetot = str_pad($zonetot , 3, 0, STR_PAD_LEFT); $sql = "SELECT COUNT(d.district_id) as districtTot FROM sn_school s JOIN zone z USING(zone_id) JOIN district d ON d.district_id = z.district_id GROUP BY d.district_id"; $stmt = $pdo->query($sql); $districtTot = $stmt->rowCount(); $districtTot = str_pad($districtTot , 3, 0, STR_PAD_LEFT); $sql = "SELECT COUNT(p.province_id) as ptot FROM sn_school s JOIN zone z USING(zone_id) JOIN district d ON d.district_id = z.district_id JOIN district p ON p.province_id = d.province_id GROUP BY p.province_id"; $stmt = $pdo->query($sql); $ptot = $stmt->rowCount(); $ptot = str_pad($ptot , 3, 0, STR_PAD_LEFT);
  21. I'm working on a new project and need to create DTOs for use in views (this is a Laravel project so MVC). The DTO will get created from subsets of values from 2 other models (Price, Quote). Obviously, it wouldn't be ideal to build the DTO from those models in multiple places so I want to seat that logic in a specific class. I figure an approach is to use a factory - i.e. as a place to capture the creation of the DTO. But when I read into Factory Method and Abstract Factory and Simple Factory this use case doesn't sound like it fits. So my questions are: Is a factory the right pattern? If so, which flavour of factory would you suggest? Is this the way you would approach it? I appeal to the more experienced minds here for some insight. I work alone so it's hard sometimes to figure out the right approach. thanks, Drongo
  22. In my database table, i have a field for price and quantity. Is there a way I could use a select to get 2 values from the database? What I mean is I will create a select field where when I select wholesale it will bring out the price and quantity and if I select retail, it will bring the price and the quantity.
  23. I am trying to help a friend with his football pool system. First an image and then the explanation: The numbers table holds random numbers, 10 under NFC and 10 under AFC. The numbers are generated after all 100 squares are filled in the squares table and are applied to the squares table as shown in the middle image. The Matrix table is for the 100 squares holding the square number, buyer name and the numbers matrix that I am trying to build. As you can see the NFC numbers are applied to all 100 squares repeating every 10 rows. The AFC numbers are the crux of the matter here. For every 10 rows the AFC number is the same and then advances to the next AFC number. I've never tried to explain anything like this before and I hope it makes sense. I'm trying to figure out how to construct the arrays(array) needed to insert these numbers into the matrix table for later processing to determine the winners.
  24. I'm currently passing values in my URL that I want to GET and insert in my controller class for filtering. My current URL looks something like this: http://localhost/reports/lists?source=Product1&status=4. Now to get the value of suppose source, I'm using the following code: let searchParams = new URLSearchParams(window.location.search); var status = searchParams.get('source'); Now I want this status variable to go to my controller class so that I can use it as 1 of my parameters for my model class: Full code: View Class: <?php $postd = json_encode(array_filter($post)); ?> <table id="item-list"> <tr> <th>Ref.No#</th> <th>Source</th> </tr> </table> <script> $(document).ready(function() { function sendreq(){ setpostdatas();cleartable();getleads(); } var userrole = "<?php echo $this->session->userdata('clientrole')?>"; var slug = '<?php echo $slug?>'; var postd = '<?php echo $postd; ?>'; if( userrole > 1 && userrole != 5){ $('#item-list').DataTable({ "processing": true, "stateSave": true, "serverSide": true, "ordering": false, "createdRow": function( row, data, dataIndex){ $(row).has( "div.overdueupdate" ).css('background-color','#FFC7CE'); }, "ajax": { url: "<?php echo site_url(); ?>reports/loadLeads", data: {slug: slug, postdata: postd}, type : 'POST', "dataSrc": function ( d ) { d.myKey = "myValue"; if(d.recordsTotal == 0 || d.data == null){ $("#item-list_info").text("No records found"); $("#item-list_processing").css("display","none"); } return d.data; } }, 'columns': [ {"data": "id", "id": "id"}, {"data": "refno", "refno": "refno"}, {"data": "source", "source": "source"}, ] }); } Controller Class: public function loadLeads($p=''){ $leadsource = $this->input->get('status'); if(isset($_POST['postdata'])){ if($_POST['postdata'] != null && $_POST['postdata'] != 'null'){ $post=$_POST['postdata']; } $post = json_decode($post,true); unset($post['slug']); unset($post['page']); $sort = $post['afsort']; if($sort == "asc"){ $sortQ = 'l.updated_date asc,'; }else if ($sort == "desc"){ $sortQ = 'l.updated_date desc,'; } } $offset = (int)$_POST['start'] ; $pstdatas = explode(',', $_POST['postdata']); unset($pstdatas['item-list_length']); if($this->session->userdata('clientrole') == 1 || $this->session->userdata('clientrole') == 5 ){ $content['leads']=$this->leads_model->get_pagination($_POST['length'],$offset,$where,'',false,$sortQ?$sortQ:'l.assign_status =\'Unassigned\' desc,',$all,$leadsource); }else{ $content['leads']=$this->leads_model->get_pagination($_POST['length'],$offset,$where,'',false,$sortQ?$sortQ:'l.assigned_date desc,',$all,$leadsource); } Now here in my controller class I want that AJAX variable to be passed so that I can use it my model query.
  25. I have a table that shows the redirect from and redirect to columns from my database. By default, all the records are shown, but there is a from and to filter I'm using to search by a particular redirect. Now there are a lot of times that after I input the filters, it gives me a Undefined variable: redirects error, but sometimes it works. Here is my code: View Class: <?php if ($redirects): ?> <form name="redirectform" action="admin/redirects" method="post"> <div> <input list="search-from-list" id="search-from" name="search-from" style="width:100%;"/> <datalist id="search-from-list"> <?php foreach ($allredirects as $allredirect){ ?> <option value="<?php echo $allredirect->from; ?>" id="<?php echo $allredirect->id; ?>" /> <?php } ?> </datalist> </div> <input type="hidden" name="linkid" id="linkid" /> <input type="hidden" name="linkidto" id="linkidto" /> <input type="hidden" name="<?php echo $this->security->get_csrf_token_name();?>" value="<?php echo $this->security->get_csrf_hash();?>"> </div> <input list="search-to-list" id="search-to" name="search-to" style="width:100%;" /> <datalist id="search-to-list"> <?php foreach ($allredirects as $allredirect){ ?> <option value="<?php echo $allredirect->to; ?>" id="<?php echo $allredirect->id; ?>" /> <?php } ?> </datalist> </div> </form> <table> <?php foreach ($redirects as $redirect): ?> <tr> <td><?php echo $from=str_replace('%', '*', $redirect->from);?></td> <td><?php echo $redirect->to;?></td> </tr> <?php endforeach ?> </table> <?php echo form_close() ?> </div> <?php else: ?> <div class="no_data">No Data</div> <?php endif ?> <script type="text/javascript"> $("#search-from").select(function(e){ var g = $('#search-from').val(); var id = $('#search-from-list').find("option[value='"+g+"']").attr('id'); $('#linkid').val(id); }); $("#search-to").select(function(e){ var g = $('#search-to').val(); var id = $('#search-to-list').find("option[value='"+g+"']").attr('id'); $('#linkidto').val(id); }); </script> Controller Class: public function index() { if(isset($_POST["search-from"]) && !empty($_POST["search-from"])){ if(isset($_POST["linkid"]) && !empty($_POST["linkid"])){ $from_id = $_POST["linkid"]; $this->template->redirects = $this->redirect_m->order_by('`from`')->get_by_id($from_id); } }else if(isset($_POST["search-to"]) && !empty($_POST["search-to"])){ if(isset($_POST["linkidto"]) && !empty($_POST["linkidto"])){ $to_id = $_POST["linkidto"]; $this->template->redirects = $this->redirect_m->order_by('`to`')->get_by_id($to_id); } }else{ $this->template->redirects = $this->redirect_m->order_by('`from`')->limit($this->template->pagination['limit'], $this->template->pagination['offset'])->get_all(); } $this->template->allredirects = $this->redirect_m->order_by('`from`')->get_all(); $this->template->build('admin/index'); } Here basically what I'm doing is that the input with the ids search-from and search-to hold an autocomplete function for the redirect links. I have other 2 input fields linkid and linkidto which are hidden. Now I did some debugging and found out that the reason for my error is because the AJAX call is taking too long. Basically what the ajax call does is convert whatever text that is there in the input field of search-from and fetches the id for that from the database and then returns the value according to that id. So I changed the hidden fields to text and manually inserted the ids for the search fields I entered and it worked everytime. So now what I think the problem is that the AJAX call is taking too long to convert the selected options to their respective ids and this ends up giving me an error. So maybe what I want here is a delay timer to the page until the AJAX call has been made?
