  1. You must be still quite young then, considering YouTube is only ~4 years old... I started learning HTML around 2000, then the LAMP stack in around 2002/3 I'd imagine, dabbling in a little C++ and Pascal at college in 2003/2004.
  2. We have a room in our office with a 100" projector and a Wii hooked up to it, I find myself playing Mario Kart online a lot Google do something similar to the 80% / 20% thing you describe, that's where a number of their products have come from, AdWords for example - That "side project" must have made them a bit of cash!
  3. Entertaining to see happen, but doesn't bother me all that much - Can't remember the last time I actually listened to the radio. However, I do find it silly how in the space of a few weeks an "unknown" can take part in a show; sing someone else's song and get to number one. When they get number two, they're "disappointed"?! Like they deserve it... Glorified karaoke if you ask me (which you didn't, but meh).

WTF Heh, are they the people that sung "Venga bus is coming" and "I'm going to Ibiza"?
  5. The issues you're experiencing work fine for me in Chrome under Linux.
  6. This should be possible using something like imagecopymerge(), although it is probably worth checking out all of the GD Functions. If you need to use something a little more flexible / advanced, take a look at ImageMagick.
  7. Heh, I have yet to watch Firefly - I have the whole season on Blu-ray waiting to be watched, though I have seen Serenity and enjoyed it. I'm only really just getting into Joss Whedons work, I was only a casual watcher of Buffy, as in I had only seen an episode here and there; then I started watching Dollhouse, loved it, and went back and started Buffy from the beginning. I have all 5 seasons of Angel, and all of FireFly waiting to be watched too.
  8. FYI: Any posts in this board do not count towards your post count. So please don't see this as an easy opportunity to raise your numbers
  9. Tough call... Wouldn't say no to either of them! Do you watch Dollhouse? Eliza is awesome in that, gutted that it's been canceled...
  10. Sweet, I have seasons 1 - 5 of House sitting there waiting to be watched - This might have to jump the queue after I finish the last season and a half of Buffy.
  11. I seem to recall she was the one that was lezzing off with Mischa Barton in The OC (Yeah, I was a fan, deal with it). Has she actually been in anything since then?
  12. Cags, is that a Denon AVR-1906 (with SYS-56HT speakers) you got there? I have that combo too...
  13. It looks like your first rule is interfering, as it matches the requested page after redirecting. I'm not 100% sure on this, but adding a pattern at the end of your RewriteCond might fix this as the resulting page mysite.com doesn't start with any of the things you're checking for, but you do want something after the domain name to trigger the inclusion of /index.php/$1 RewriteEngine on RewriteCond $1 !^(ADMIN|images|tools|themes|favicon\.ico|robots\.txt|index\.php).+ [NC] RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /index.php?/$1 [L] RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www.mysite.com [NC] RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://mysite.com/$1 [L,R=301]
  14. You could check the User Agent string ($_SERVER['HTTP_USER_AGENT']) and if it matches a search engine robot, set the session variable.
  15. This has nothing to do with Asia. According the the article, it only affects Europe.
  16. That sounds counter productive, to a degree. Under Gnome, you can create a panel on each screen and add a window list to each of them, therefore having a dedicated "task bar" for each screen - Each one lists the windows that are on their screen. If this functionality isn't built into Windows, maybe there is a third party application that can handle it?
  17. I struggle to get the 3 kill streak, I've only once got a 4 kill streak. Yes, I'm not that good.
  18. Works great for me, it even shares a clipboard, which is handy sometimes! Although, there is an annoying bug when both a client and server are running Linux (which is rare for me) when you're trying to insert the @ symbol on a client machine, it comes out as an Omega symbol. The bug has been filed, though it's not been given a high priority...
  19. I keep getting owned by people with the dual 1887s too, at what point are they unlocked? Think I'm only at 22 or something, don't have time to play it much... Those Semtex grenades are hilarious when you can successfully stick them to someone!
  20. I'm like that as well, although I'm slowly getting used to the controller. Funnily enough, as far as I can remember, I too have only ever completed Half-Life and Half-Life 2.
  21. I have 3 / 5. Technically, there are three hooked up to my dev machine, but I have a further laptop either side with everything running Synergy (one k/b & mouse controlling everything). [MacBook] [Dev 2] [Dev 1] [Dev 3] [Vista Laptop] The MacBook is for testing in browsers under OS X, the Vista is for testing in browsers under Windows. Generally, the dev machine is used like so... [Dev 1] IDE [Dev 2] Browser [Dev 3] phpMyAdmin
  22. This sort of thing has been integrated into cars for a while now - The accelerator pedal in my car (2004) is not directly connected to the engine, it's electronic... I thought electronic components are more reliable than mechanical due to less wear, tear and maintenance required.
  23. Amazing how stuff like this gets blown out of proportion...
  24. Works ok for me. Testing in a Windows 7 VM with IE8, with compatibility mode switch on and off.
